vriska doesn't have an ounce of cunning in her. she repeats the same mistakes over and over, and she assumes that everyone thinks the same way she does. like when she doesn't get why people are still mad at her even after getting their revenge, for example: she thinks an eye for an eye (or two) cancels things out. obviously not everyone agrees.

she does have a lot of brash bull-headed courage and conviction that she's doing the right thing, though, which is what makes her she read as gryff to me.

slytherin would be my second choice. she does have a lot of ambition and likes to influence people (even though she's garbage at it without her powers). it's just that she acts on these traits by being rash and throwing herself and others into danger in ways she thinks are heroic and right.

He prob wants to think he is, though, and I think he has "negative stereotype Slytherin" down pat.

Gamzee's the one I think fits in literally no house.

Equius as anything but Hufflepuff is my HS sorting pet peeve, though, so good call on that one.

i think the splitting points for characters that are hard to pin down is "what house would they WANT to be in" so slythidan makes perfect sense that way

why slytherin? ive heard arguments for him in every house but that, i think. ravenclaw because you've gotta be clever to unwind those rhymes, gryffindor because he does have that heroic potential if only he wanted to own it, hufflepuff because he devotes so much time to looking out for his friends throughout the story and depends a lot on them and their approval. but i can't really wrap my head around slytherin. he doesn't seem ambitious or especially shrewd

Neville wasn't loud either, and he's probably the best example of what makes a Gryffindor that actually gets any attention in the books. (I'm sure everyone's read that article by now, but I always thought the same thing.) Neither were Hermione and Ron, really. Or most Gryffindors.

i like these a lot, anon! :D though i think maybe you could switch roxy into ravenclaw and kan into hufflepuff (which would slightly unbalance the distribution but eh)? but the way around you have them works too. u___u

i also think aradia could be a hufflepuff, but wanting to see how it all breaks does seem p. ravenclaw

roxy would work in ravenclaw too, plus it'd be fun to have this party girl who cant spell worth a damn in with all the nerds, hehe. i went with puff because she really was the best and most devoted friend of her session.

i plopped kanaya into ravenclaw because apparently artistic creativity is one of their Things and she does that, but it was also just me wanting to keep things balanced so yeah im flexible on that one

switch kanaya and equius, kanaya's way more hufflepuff than ravenclaw and equius is a much better fit

i am the op and ur wrong

i mean equius is apparently smart as hell about engineering and prosthetics but he shows no particular desire to gain further information about things and isn't adventurous in his worldview; in fact, it's pretty much his defining characteristic that he's unbendingly loyal to his ideals, and it's his loyalty to karkat that leads him to seeking out gamzee even knowing it'll lead to his death

i do think kanaya could make a good puff, too, because she is the fussyfangs, but i don't feel she's as STRONGly a puff as eq is

gotta admit i let themes other than her personality influence me, plus i wanted a kid in each house

but i dunno she's one of the more sly characters in the comic and she feels a need to be in charge (like when refusing to use the gates sburb intended). she kept her plans quiet when john was fetching the tumor because she knew what not to tell him to get him to do what she wanted, and takes satisfaction in getting under peoples skin. she fits better than the other three, i thought.

i've never seen ravenclaw for jade before! usually i am adamant about her as a gryffindor but i will begrudgingly accept hufflepuff too. what made you pick ravenclaw?

i'd say john's a hufflepuff for sure though

This is an unpopular opinion but I hate how people default Jane into Raveclaw when it's really an awful fit. It's kind of a stretch, but I always liked the idea of her in Slytherin.

dirk is more ravenclaw than slytherin since while he claims to be a puppetmaster, he really fails at it. jake isnt as brave as he tries to come off as so he doesnt fit into gryffindor as neatly as one might expected either, a better sorting for him would be hufflepuff. jane for gryffindor and roxy for slytherin imo. roxy is a lot more cunning and manipulative than you would give her credit for (remember how she tried to manipulate jane into not playing sburb by blowing up her computer? that aint hufflepuff behavior, yo).

rose could be ravenclaw or slytherin but ravenclaw is generally better, dave is fine in gryffindor or hufflepuff, john for gryffindor, jade for hufflepuff (she isnt really like a ravenclaw at all, her interests arent as varied and she isnt as booksmart as, say, rose) or slytherin or gryffindor if you wanna stretch it.

feferi might be better in slytherin too since she does have a little bit of highblood prejudice in her, she just likes playing hero and likes being the center of attention. vriska i agree could be gryffindor or slytherin, but slytherin is overall a better fit for her due to her attributes and how she thinks she is better than everyone else. sollux is bipolar enough to fit into multiple sortings, karkat for gryffindor and hufflepuff is kind of a confusing choice for him (he can be kind, definitely, but i would say he has other attributes that stand out more, like his obsessive need to be the leader), tavros is hufflepuff and tbh i think you just sorted him in gryffindor to either tie up the numbers or because you hope he will be brave but ultimately the sortings are more about a persons characteristics than anything else, terezi could be slytherin or gryffindor, equius for slytherin
