i play a character so heavily laden with issues that logging into their journal is like strapping on a pair of cement shoes. i love playing them but it's emotionally taxing. i know when i sit down for a tag i'm not going to feel joy until it's done. buuut i'm not gonna stop, it's a pleasant sort of torture. insert deadcat here.

when your character has strong CR with a character that makes 100% sense and is very enjoyable, but you hate playing it out because the other mun's tags are shitty / too short / too bland and uninspiring / don't give you enough of a hook to want to write a tag back

i'd be up for playing a line where my villainous character is challenged by another through common interest. at first, this interest of theirs may kick off a deep seated rivalry or dick measuring contest of douchebaggery, but when they realise that they can use the other/manipulate them into gaining what they want, they start working together for convenience's sake.

they both remain hideously cruel in how they plan to end the other, but the obstacles that get in their way cause them to reexamine their relationship and just exactly what they actually want from each other! can be either gen or romantic, either way is cool.

I wish I could play out a sleep deprivation thread with either or both characters being sleep deprived. The struggle for the character(s) not to fall asleep is fun to me, but I feel like it would be so boring to anyone I played it out with. I guess you cold spice up that kind of thread with "no, I have to stay awake to study/save the world/whatever!" but... idk.

I just wanna play sleepy fun times.

Hey, anons, does anyone know of a mass icon uploader for DW, that lets you upload multiple icons at once? I haven't been able to find one. I know there was one for LJ, but I've not seen it for DW.

And I know I heard someone talking about it - they said that it fills in all the "comment" spaces the same, or something? But I haven't been able to find it. Maybe I just haven't looked well enough. :(

Well drawn art of any style > live action PBs > PB taken from an animanga series (because I sometimes know who the character actually is and it distracts me) > poorly drawn doodles

someone I knew once used hand-drawn PBs that looked like a character from the Zelda CDI games and oh it was cringe inducing. good writer otherwise but I really had to ignore the icons.

Anons, what do you do when you find yourself shipping your character with another but don't really know the other player that well to talk about it?

I can live without it, but at the same time I sometimes wonder if the other player ships it. We thread a good bit and the characters have a fun and interesting chemistry even if it's not really romantic.

I'm too embarrassed and shy to tell anyone though, especially the other person. I don't want them to think I just want a ship, and I'm afraid that they might not feel the same way so I don't want to make them feel awkward. It would be different if they were someone I knew, but I don't talk to them much... I just don't know how someone would feel if they were suddenly told I shipped their character with theirs. It seems really awkward.

Should I tell them and risk a bad end or should I just keep it to myself and silently hope things change through threading?

I would tell them more or less what you told us here--that you're fine with not shipping, but you really like how the two characters interact so you wanted to know how they felt about the pair. Make it clear that you're totally fine with the CR staying platonic if they'd prefer, and I think you should be fine.
