rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. i don't understand the point. i think they're really fucking dumb if they're nothing but noncanon pictures and gifs, but if they're used as like a reference post for cool/important canon things or moments? that's pretty neat

I've never seen one that used actual pictures of the character/canon. It's kindof cheating.

why would it be cheating? if i'm on your journal looking for info, i want to see pictures of your character and their world, not some random shit from tumblr. some unrelated filler would be okay, but if you have nothing but gifs of fireworks, people making out on rusty cars, and blurry pictures of elk in the fog, i'm going think you're a god damn moron

I think there's a conflict between what you're looking for (something practical) and what it is: it's literally a pointless thing for fun. To take from a below comment, it's not like character playlists are solely of songs and leitmotifs from canon.

i think those are a lot more pointless than playlists. songs are fun in that they can be earworms and can repeatedly enjoyed, and can be (sometimes) easily related to characters or situations through lyrics. shit, your canon might even be outright mentioned in the song. pictures of an abandoned carnival or a cluster of balloons can only get you so far

though, i will say, i do like it when people provide pictures of things like what they think their characters in-game apartment or wardrobe or whatever looks like. anything other than that is useless to anyone not you. it belongs on a meme post somewhere, not out in the character's information posts right alongside their permissions and app
