On the first one:

Make sure it's not just "canon" but you're actually playing them as charming and not skeevy.

Somebody in one of my games brought in a character that was supposed to have a bunch of people wrapped around their finger and totally given whatever they wanted. Except they played the character like they were just a bitch to everyone they talked to and nobody responded the way they were expected to.

I play a flirty character with oodles of natural charm, and it's aaaall in the delivery. It helps if they come across as genuinely interested in people outside of wanting to get into their pants.
