Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for fictional character role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

I did not! I've seen people mention dwtools, but I've never actually used. Is it just the "dreamwidth tools" in the chrome store?

It is. There's one for Firefox, too, but the bulk upload has been broken for years.

wasn't able to get to my laptop yesterday, so didn't get a chance to download it or check it out!

i saw someone mention the bulk uploader might not work on chrome, so we shall see. either way, i could use the practice. i'll probably just do it to get my brain chugging along and stretch my python legs.

so i'll fiddle and report back, nonnie 🧐 NO PROMISES but i'll do my best.

i made some progress on the script! i was able to successfully upload a batch of icons with a python script using the brave browser. i wrote an indepth update here for anyone who is interested. there's some things i have to work out with it as well as some additional functionality i'd like to add.

it's far from perfect, and again, this is a project i'm doing to get back into python after a couple year break. so i'm not expecting everyone to want to use it, but if i can get it working and people wanna give it a go, i'm happy to share what the final product is.

fyi anon the current build of chrome restricts dwtools and will probably automatically remove it or turn it off (if it lets you download it at all). you can just turn it back on and tell chrome that you don't care about the warnings. eventually it will probably be removed altogether though.

sadly chrome won't let you dl it at all. you have to find a dl of the crx on the web or make a back-up of your own (there's an extension called extension manager which should just let you dl it as a crx, or you can click extensions -> dev mode -> pack extension. load extension to upload it)

you have to enable it in dev mode to get it to work. i did it and don't have any issues using it or account juggler

of course once i finally look into something, i gotta do extra. thanks for letting me know, anon! i can be prepared instead of crying over broken extensions.

this is a general thought, don't expect you specifically to know (but it's awesome if you do). i wonder how it works with brave. i've had a few extensions that don't like chrome anymore but work in brave (my browser of choice currently).
