Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for fictional character role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. what would make a game irresistible to you? describe the setting, mechanics and plot elements that are your RP catnip.

something fantasy. not necessarily sex specific - i liked eudio's positive affection interactions, so a mix. nothing where you have to earn food/cleaning/clothes. if you're dragging my character's butt to a foreign place and you want them to be happy/friendly/sexual with others, then give them incentive to want to and not through punishment. that can be for other metrics.

i like fantasy because it allows for magical powers, mythical creatures, whimsical elements. portals, magic lockets, companion creatures, earned abilities, etc. i could make a list of games that have some/all of the elements that i'd love in a game, but that would get long. basically, fantasy eudio.

- Different aesthetics for the setting, like the Byzantine empire, ancien régime into revolution, or thinking about worlds that are about to enter a period of transition like the industrial revolution or renaissance

- Active metaplot in some shape or form, just to keep the world building going and having changes in the environment that player characters can react to and engage with

- General encouragement for PCs to get invested and involved with the world

I love a power nerf, but you get some new powers in exchange. I've had too many bad experiences playing in games where you DON'T have a power nerf, therefore you get ten billion rounds of "ummmmmm my character could easily fix this problem with their laser breath, I am going to ruin any sort of plotting you're trying to do because it just wouldn't be IC of them to not poke their head in and solve this problem." Power nerf takes care of that entirely.

And with the 'you get some new powers in exchange' aspect, you can pick something that absolutely fits your character or something that challenges them in different ways. I especially love the sort of 'you get superpowers, but they fit in this clearly defined category' set-up, like how Asgard had.

no CRAUs

interesting premise with lots of setting and lore to play around with

events/prompts geared toward CR development; they should encourage characters interacting with each other, not just characters reacting to things

overarching metaplot with ways for characters to involve themselves

it doesn't have to be commissioned fancy code, but simple and nice coding goes a long way in making a game look presentable
