Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for fictional character role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not post personal information. This includes but is not limited to full names, addresses, phone numbers and so on.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.

Thanks everyone for your help on revamping this comm so far! I'm working next on a tutorial for using the beta composer, but I need some help on explaining how to use the Markdown option, since I don't use that. I do know how to do things like links and bullet point lists from using Markdown on Discord and Reddit, but I have some questions:

- Is there a cut tag for DW that works on Markdown?
- Also, how do you change things like font and font color on Markdown?

Any other tips for using the Markdown coding option for RPing are appreciated!

You can use HTML in markdown, including the cut, font, and small tags! Just write it in the post as normal.

- Most formatting is a lot like Reddit & Discord, e.g. *asterisk* for italics, **double asterisk** for bold, ***triple asterisk*** for bold+italic, ~~double tilde~~ for strikethrough.
- Hyphens at the start of lines, like this comment, will auto-format as lists.
- If you want to use asterisks, hyphens, or other markdown symbols without formatting, stick a \ (backslash) in front of it, \*like so.
- key difference: New paragraphs need a blank space between them. If you only want a single line break, use the <br> tag, OR insert two spaces at the end of the line you want to break.

Many people aren't aware of the details and summary tags, which are lj-cuts in comments.

The details tag allows you to put things behind a cut in the comments, and summary will let you give it a title or summary.

NP! It's life-changing for long top-levels. You can add html in the summary to make it a nice shiny title, and put the blocks of text under it.

Also good to cover up spoilers and whatnot.

Man seeing 'tag' as something that needs to be explained/defined takes me back to the early pre-gmail days. I still remember messaging my thread partners with "tag, you're it"/"tag, your turn" and then that just shortening to "tag". And now here we are.

Good general overview of everything, OP!
