yeah i just came back too and it's like pulling teeth to get tags these days. threads die off after a single reply. tdms that go nowhere. public games are capped and only open every two months. private games are private games. kind of discouraged.

I have also noticed a lack of tags on large meme communities such as Bakerstreet. It appears that role-playing on Dreamwidth has become increasingly hostile over time. I just want to RP.

most public games aren't capped and the ones that are capped aren't at the limit. i'm not sure what the complaint that tdms "go nowhere" is about considering many tdms stay active for a while. it sounds more like you have high standards or a specific niche interest that you're not seeing anywhere.

just because there aren't any games that you want to join or meme threads that you want to tag doesn't mean that dwrp is dying. try expanding your horizons.

anon i didn’t say dwrp is dying. I’m agreeing with the sentiment that it seems stagnant. i tag out on bakerstreet and for four tag outs i get one reply then get ghosted or it takes over a week to get something back. on the tdm situation i posted, got two replies then one person never replied back and the other replied not enough times for me to be able to use our thread for the game’s application. the juice has not been worth the squeeze. i’m a ‘fast tagger’ in the sense that i want more than a single reply every week. i want momentum. i have no niche interest this is all gen stuff

why didn't you tag out on the tdm? posting a top level and expecting people to give you enough samples to apply only works if you have a lot of friends who want to tag in. most of the time it's a good idea to tag out plenty of times on a tdm as well, especially if you're new to the game.

it was a while ago and at the time i was the only person on the tdm. couldn’t tag others because there were none

my point is I literally tag out all the time and i feel like i’m putting in a lot of effort for 1/4 of results. hard not to be discouraged

video games and tv shows. and yes i have. the second one got me no replies but i did tag out. and yes i made sure my top level was engaging and gave people choices.

I was going to ask if your journal is filled out with info, only because sometimes I skip over people who tl if they have blank journals mainly because I don't know anything about the character so I wouldn't know if my character would get on well with them. But most of those have been people who don't actually give options to tag into for their TLs so I must not have stumbled across any of yours yet. Maybe someday!

oh yeah i have a custom layout with permissions and a link to the character's bio from the main fansite. i know you have to be proactive i have no problems with that. i'm just the kind of person who gets easily frustrated when i feel my efforts are not yielding fruit. oh well. i'll keep trying. thanks anon.
