less top levels more tagging out

less memes that encourage blank top levels

less memes as a whole because choice fatigue

less judgmental attitude from anons who come in hot and act like everyone who missteps is a wanker instead of new and/or unfamiliar with the space or maybe just awkward/autistic

oh my god maybe if you stopped whining and bitching youd get more rp done and have the energy to spend 2 seconds making a dummy plurk account. you dont even have to fucking use plurk, you can just make it and use it to check/follow resources. it really isnt hard

like by all means, if you have a more elegant solution then pitch it. as far as i see it, you can check news spread by plurk or you can run around on emp/here and try to find tdms. if you dont have a better solution and those are ~too inaccessible~ for you then you dont have to participate.

I have a Plurk, but I will say that Plurk is fucking terrible accessibility wise, which is why mine is gathering dust. I'm glad there's starting to be more of a Discord presence here because Plurk is basically unusable for me with my vision impairments. The side layout fucks with me, so my main option is mobile with a ton of zoom and zoom doesn't work on the stupidly tiny icons y'all use to say what you're Plurking about, so I can't tell what a Plurk is about unless I open it, which sucks.

And for RP connection, I like that in Discord you can have DMs and different channels for different topics rather than friending a person you wrote a cool thread with and being immediately inundated with all their intimate and traumatic life details. I met you 30 minutes ago - can I get to know you a little before the trauma dumping? Plurk is so often 0 to 100 immediately and that's not my thing.

it's funny you say that because my own experiences with plurk and discord have been the exact opposite. the people i've added on plurk have been fun and laidback, it's the people on discord who want to be right up in my dms 24/7 because they seem to take a friend request as a license to besiege you with messages.

i don't see how having different channels is different from having different posts on plurk. i just mute the rl plurks and read the rp/fandom plurks. if anything is easier to avoid the life details on plurk, because on game servers there usually isn't a rl channel, there's just an off topic one and i can't mute that without missing other topics of conversation too. not to mention this split doesn't exist on DMs as anons above said

also i don't understand how you still have to open the plurk if you can't read the icon? you can read what comes after the icon and mute. there is a particular batch of plurk header icons that i can't read very well and are super popular, but context makes the plurk pretty clear.

for the record it's fine to prefer discord, to each their own when it comes about taste and all that, the way you're describing plurk is just weird
