yeah, I just wish people would say "sorry not interested". i get why they don't but it's frustrating for those of us who would go "oh ok thanks for letting me know".

I find this deeply frustrating too but I managed to solve it for myself by basically setting very hard boundaries with… myself. I will follow up on a thread with one PM after three weeks and then put it out of my mind and move on or something similar. The more you practice this kind of stuff the easier it gets.

i mean, i have no problem moving on from it? but that doesn't make it less annoying. i don't think i have to set boundaries not to have feelings? it's not like i do anything about those feelings beyond blacklist the flakes.

no one is saying you can't feel your feelings OR that it isn't annoying. some people just would like to not feel annoyed or upset about that kind of thing and practice helps. you aren't obligated to take ayrt's advice, they were just saying what works for them.

right but they're the one who keeps commenting that people SHOULDN'T have those feelings and should do x. when people aren't even saying they're doing anything other than feeling mildly annoyed.

like why do they have such an issue with people being mildly annoyed about this? have they flaked on a thousand psls or something?

i think if y'all are gonna comment 100 iterations of the exact same woe on every post, you're gonna get some responses you dislike

i think it's understandable a lot of people have the same woe when most of them boil down to "people will not communicate with me" or "i cannot possibly communicate with people".

what i don't get is the people coming in to the first kind claiming the second thing and people don't owe anyone standard level communication.

the actual answer is of course that yall are the people refusing to communicate and trying to somehow normalize that
