It’s just not my thing. I don’t want to think about actors, real people, real faces. Most people are totally comfortable with a medium divide, I’m just it not one of them. That should be fine and not seen as “weird”.

The reality is - that’s Channing Tatum.

It’s a character created by Hollywood now being written by a DWRPer being played by an actor, and that actor is Channing Tatum. That’s 100 icons of Channing Tatum’s face. Occasionally, it’s photos from Channing Tatum’s Instagram, or red carpet interviews, or modeling work, or IMDB.

The latter, while fortunately rare, feels like the poor IC/OOC divide. Including a real person’s personal photographs for your sad boy OC makes me absolutely not want to play with you. How is that hard to understand? Leave real people out of this.

i'm kind of +.5 on this but it depends

if the actor is super recognizable it's distracting for me, which detracts from the rp in the same way that, say, really terrible self-drawn icons would be distracting

but if there's a lot of hair/makeup/chameleoning going on it doesn't happen, like i'd have no problem playing off a moiraine damodred because the Fantasy Filter is so heavy, and if a character's played by an actor who isn't ubiquitous it also isn't an issue

off the top of my head the MCU is the worst for this (for me) because of their general casting/costuming practices, but the MCU is also the worst for writing, so it's kind of an "oh no, anyway"
