Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

based on comments from the last post i think you have to install an older version of firefox, install dw tools, then upgrade firefox to the current version. the current version of firefox won't let it install, but will let it work if it was already there when you updated.

why does DW dark mode hate every game/tdm page? almost every time it puts the font in a color almost identical to the coding.

is one of my settings screwed up? is this fixable?

happens a lot with memes on bakerstreet too. i think it's because the poster of the entry manually changed the default font color with html, which overrides the dark mode settings.

It's because a lot of people for some reason hard code their text to be black or some dark grey off black color, which doesn't play nice with the fact that dw dark mode doesn't change hard coded stuff. If they just left it alone dark mode would turn the text light, but alas.

Where do people get kink lists for their characters' preferences/kinks? I don't mean the tables, but the actual lists. Please don't tell me to browse pornhub to build a list.

f-list usually has a cohesive one you can add/pick from.

alternatively, if you don't wanna do either of the above, maybe just make your own minimum list of the kinks you do know about off the top of your head? like, the ones you're actively looking to play, and the ones you never want to deal with. and then just add a note at the end like "if there's something not on the list that you'd like to try, feel free ask me about it first and we can hash it out!" or something like that

you don't *have* to have a page that comprehensively covers every possible kink out there. a kinklist on a journal's more like a general guide others can reference real quick wrt what you the player would be real interested in writing, and what you don't want to engage at all, off the bat. ime, greyer areas from there can be negotiated out on an as-needed basis

some ppl already have access to flist or an equivalent anyway and just pull from whatever they already have set up there, which is probably where the real big and thorough kinklists you see around come from

Let's say that character A has canonically close CR with character B. Is it still okay to assume CR or is it considered to be infomodding?

Assume CR how? Like them knowing each other or like saying "oh they spend there days together doing things" if you're in a game together? Cause one is using what is canon (They are close, so of course they know each other) while the other is saying what the other character is doing.

Or like, having B know something about A that wasn't revealed to anyone ever? (Except via the plot, but B wasn't there for it. Either the reveal or when the thing happened) That would be infomodding then.

How common is deleting a tag that didn't get a response in a thread after a few weeks? Does it look strange or risk being seen as "wanky" to delete?

i won't lie, i've been tempted to do this before, but self-reflection made me stop because like... why? either no one will see/notice the tag-in is gone, in which case why bother deleting, or someone will see/notice the tag is gone, and what other reason would there be for deleting other than to make some sort of statement? while not necessarily wanky, but it is a touch more over-invested than i am personally comfortable showing.

if it's a matter of wanting to reuse the tag somewhere else, you can do that without deleting. nobody's going to get buttmad on the tiny chance they even notice.

i've tagged people who have done this to me (in that case they deleted it after a few days before i even had a chance to read it properly because i was busy irl, which they were well aware of, they just became impatient/too anxious to let it sit)

those incidents have stuck in my memory. i'm wary of tagging that person now because i don't know if they'll just get upset at something in their head and decide to delete the tag out of the blue. if they'd just left it i would have tagged it. or i would have talked to them about trying a new thread when i was less busy. as it is now they're "that player who deletes tags" in my head

some people think it looks passive aggressive. i've done it before when i realized i tagged someone whose prefs did not match mine after all and i know people who'll do it because they don't have time/brains to thread anymore and don't want the person they tagged to waste their own time on a thread they know they won't come back to

i've done it before for mismatched preferences i failed to read or if i was cleaning up my thread tracker and noticed that a tag hasn't been replied to for more than a month.

in those cases i just have no interest in pursuing that thread anymore and just like cleaning up.

Other anons seem to be making a way bigger deal of this than it is. I think expecting someone to wait weeks for you to express interest is the weird thing, actually.

If someone deleted a tag I was excited about I would simply apologize for the delay and ask if they were still interested in a thread.

haven't done it because of a delay in replying. i've had people tag back after 2 months before so there is always hope!

i have deleted meme tagins when the person i tagged has replied more than once to others who tagged them but ignored me. very clear that they're not interested in me/my character and i guess i feel a bit embarrassed when that happens. irrational of me because it's more honest than a couple of low-effort pity tags and then a drop but there we are.

if you had a falling out with someone you never intend to interact with again, would you still keep their threads on your journal or delete them? not every thread you've had together (especially because combing through bs or games is nightmare and tad too overinvested for me), but like say if you had a post dedicated to psls with them? why or why not?

i'm curious because personally i would never revisit those threads, so if the person deleted it all i wouldn't care. but i have met others who got livid about it despite being the one to end things.

I can’t really bring myself to delete them so I just private them. It’s too final and I don’t like the idea of them being lost forever even if it’s too painful to read them.
