a similar thing happened to me. i played a popular character, who is more well-known for their strength rather than their intelligence but is still very smart! but everyone seemed to play them as a dumbass who couldn't even wipe themselves

This scenario is a very open one. Basically I'm looking for emotionally and physically scarred character(s) healing each other through finding love and plentiful smut. I'm not very picky on how we get to the two meeting / love / smut, I just really would like some of all of the above. We can throw some melodrama in it if you like, explore darker/deeper issues or so on.

These can be canon characters or OCs, whatever medium you like. I have several OCs both drawn and live that could be used, one specifically made for hurt/comfort sorts of prompts. Or I also have canon characters as well. I'm open to making OCs or exploring other canon characters if you have some ship this fits. This would work great for villain characters you might have always wanted to let have emotional breakdowns or such.

Feel free to look in this journal for more kinks. Arranged marriage, mating rituals, risk of impregnation / pregnancy are all big ones for me.

just chiming in to suggest you be careful with players like that, who don't seem to account for ic consequences and want to go right back to everyone loving their character. they demand a lot of grace and forgiveness for their blorbo, but won't extend it to others icly in turn

honestly some people just flake on bakerstreet but don't really mean anything by it; it's just more that people tend not to come back to really old stuff for whatever reason. it's probably not you and if you want to tag them again, go for it.

I feel like you might be overcomplicating things a bit since everyone involved got the ok from you oocly and it doesn't sound like you warned anyone that doing so would have lasting negative consequences for the character who started it. You can absolutely have your character be tough to reconcile with, but I think it's a bit much to base your future interactions with player A on the actions of players B, C and D when everyone involved was having fun and you were okay with those interactions oocly.

It's a balancing act; you want your character to remain as ic as possible but you don't want to close down avenues for CR. Talk to the other player who floated shipping/smut as a possibility and explain to them where your character is at right now and see if they're willing to put in the actual work to get back to a positive place, but you don't need to make it about any other characters besides the two in question.

Oof. You’re dodging a bullet with that one, anon. It’s generous of you to be willing to eventually possibly let them back into your life, but I’m glad you have good boundaries.

+10,000 to this. I can easily envision some difficult players that have been in my orbit before getting really angry if their in character actions have anything resembling lasting ic consequences.

I really want to tell her to go take a walk for some air, in a non judgey way, because her emotional reaction is too much. Honestly think she needs to step away from the keyboard

this is tough anon, but this is also the role of a friend. you're there to tell her the hard truths sometimes. she might need someone to tell her it's small potatoes and she needs to step away and calm down

Whoever is on the other side of that thread is a person with who knows what going on in their life. I don’t know if it’s because some people are really out of touch with reality or lacking in compassion for others, but this general idea that players are only fun dispensers for you who, cares about them as a person, is a bummer

The hobby overall needs a compassion check

Yes, you’re excited about it and get invested, but caring about another person should come ahead of getting your rp fix

We all have shit to deal with. You never know what’s going on with someone, and choosing kindness is important.
