that's a really good point about mimicked style signaling endorsement, and it certainly makes me think deeper on every time we small fry artists have intentionally copied a well-known style (think, disney including and post-tangled, which is very uniform) to depict characters in circumstances and rating environments we're not sure the original artist or art house would have blessed.

How long have you been involved with DWRP?

I was involved for about a year in 2020 and now I'm coming back.

DWRP alone? Since it existed, lol. Whenever we collectively moved over from Livejournal. For journal-based RP, since 2006.

I don't care about the use of AI in a free hobby where most people aren't commissioning 100 professionally drawn icons of their characters. Most game art comes from free sources otherwise, or worse yet is taken from pinterest/tumblr probably without permission.

I understand the argument is against using the tool at all, but I think as time goes on the tools will be made more ethical due to the demand for such, and I don't think there's a lot of real harm being done if you're using these tools for yourself, not making a profit on them, and weren't going to spend money otherwise. Everyone can draw their own line but I don't think an rper or a game mod using AI art is the same level of shitty as Disney using it to promote a show.

I'm actually more into anime and video games than western stuff, but the only ship examples I can think of are:

- Only sometimes canon (Mass Effect, Fire Emblem 3H, Chloe and Max in Life Is Strange)
- Stated outright early on, or in canons with an obvious yuri influence (Anthy and Utena, Chloe and Max again)
- In canons that are outright yuri (I'm In Love With The Villainess)
- Subjected to the above mentioned complaints that they came out of nowhere or aren't actually canon (Ellie from TLOU, Madoka and Homura, basically any magical girl or idol anime where two girls start dating)

There's no shortage of F/F out there, canon or otherwise! My point was that most canon yuri ships will get dismissed as being shoehorned in, and even the most painfully blatant of them will still have people complaining that they feel forced or abrupt.

So I have learned that there is apparently a feminist movement in South Korea called 4B, which aims to get women to stop dating, sleeping with, marrying, or having kids with men.

Not going to get into the politics of this - that's banned! But it sounded like an interesting premise for a smut thread so here we are.

Our heroine, after one too many terrible relationships with men, decides that she's going to go 4B. No more dating men. But she's still kind of lonely, and still kind of horny. Solution? Set her preference on dating apps to women.

The fact that she's never been with a woman before doesn't stop her, and someone responds to her, and they go on dates and fuck a lot. Turns out, she likes it.

So yeah, I'd like to play our exploratory young lady, looking for someone to do the more experienced wlw part of this! Could do a little masc/femme action, but definitely not necessary. Setting doesn't have to be South Korea, it can be anywhere.

Drop me a line! Live action PBs preferred, but not a super big dealbreaker. No PB also ok.

many AI-generated art enthusiasts i've seen take malicious glee in the fact that artists are being hurt over it. they have a strange attitude in which art is both a capitalist commodity AND inherently worthless to them.

people who pirate manga and anime generally don't brag about sticking it to the original creators and have no intention of "revolutionizing" the industry. they just want to watch naruto without buying dvds or paying for crunchyroll.

When your canon is popular enough that you get lost in the shuffle of other RPers playing your character just as well (or better) than you are.

I'm new to this particular fandom and DWRP (returning after years!) and can't help but feel like I'm just competing for attention on meme threads, and losing. I can't seem to hook anyone. I don't have any RP friends so I can't ask them to thread with me or give me honest feedback.

I'm just sitting in the corner trying to jump in, again and again. I'm embarrassed that I don't seem to have "enough" to offer.
