two months can be a lot in a game, unfortunately. people's interests naturally gravitate toward dependable and available long-term cr and the new shinies (people who apped in while you were out). so you've got more 'competition' now.

i think if you carry on being proactive, as you seem to already be doing, you should get both your groove and their attention back. it's just a case of reminding everyone what your character has to offer.

I'd never have time to run a game, but sometimes I dream about one of those games where everyone is forced to play along with a setting that tells them "you've lived here all along, your canon memories are fake", but with a cast cap of one.

No canonmates to corroborate your stories. Maybe AU canonmates just to further muddy the waters.

i'm feeling you, anon. got punched in the face by real life, dropped off of rping for most of the last month, and now that i've tried to claw my way back into the new event i'm basically getting zero attention. feels like shit and it's making me wonder if being in a game just isn't for me anymore and i should cut my losses instead of being my head against a brick wall.

but that's just me. i hope being proactive and reaching out to people gets you positive results! sometimes you gotta make your own fun in rp.

Two months is a long time for rpers these days tbh. People want someone they can reliably tag, and not everyone knows the circumstances of anyone who disappears for a while. Most likely a few of them aren't certain if it's worth investing in CR that might go nowhere, since often when people take long breaks like that they eventually just drop. This is especially true if you haven't been playing together for long.

It sucks, but just rebuilding the CR you want is the best way to show people you still want to tag them, and eventually they'll get this isn't the usual for you.

two months is two whole game events, two app rounds, 8 weeks of cr developments, if you're in a fast or big game this is a lot of content to miss out on. all you can do is show up and tag and make sure people know you're not going to just disappear for so long again.

if it were me I'd love to recieve a dm letting me know you're down to continue! I often want to hit up old threads after a break but refrain out of embarrassment for taking so long.

it sounds like you're maybe catastrophising a bit? if the mods are on hiatus (so there isn't a lot of questions being asked and answered, event movement, etc) and the more active players are too, then of course it feels quiet this month.

it's like you're coming into a workplace where the boss and some senior staff and the receptionist who organizes regular morning teas are all on vacation for a few weeks and going "oh no, i'm about to lose my job forever"!

some suggestions from me to you:
- make a network post with a game in it. two truths and a lie, word association, that kind of thing. the kind of post it's easy to tag into and keep tagging even if you're busy. or have your character ask a really open ended question, like "what is government like in your world?"
- when's your next cr meme? if it's over a week away, start a plotting meme on plurk, or post an ooc plotting style meme to the meme comm, like "kinks you want to play" or "long term plans for my character". if you have some friends in the game who aren't hiatused, tell them "omg i would love to see your answers to this plurk meme that's going around" to try and kick off going viral.
- if it's setting and character appropriate, come up with a mingle post idea and post an ooc plotting post and a log. a party, or something else that gets everyone in one place.

it's hard to be fresh blood in a game where the playerbase only has time and energy to maintain their closest cr, or where it feels like the mods have checked out. but you can't be the only new arrival feeling the vibe, and there might be lingering other players who would totally jump on something to rp about. hopefully it will get you a reputation for being active and engaged, and then everyone will come back from rp vacation and your game will go on as usual.

Have you looked at shampoo bars? Most brands have bars for sensitive scalps. Sometimes that means a specific formulation, sometimes that means unscented.

I have very fine hair too. Dandruff hasn't 100% gone away, but it's much better since I started using gentle shampoo bars.

in a fairly large american city, 3 years of experience. i've listened to a looooooot of stand-up.

I had my character do something that broke a lot of CR and the fallout has been fun but everyone hating my character is getting old and making me kind of anxious to keep playing.

This feels very “oh no the consequences of my own actions” but I feel stuck on how to start repairing CR and moving past what they did.

are you a funny guy (gender neutral) too?

as someone who recently witnessed a murder that will probably never see justice, i want to thank both you and op. please take care of yourselves!

as someone who has been through this: be honest with your cr! if you tell people that you want to try to make the cr neutral or positive again, most people will be receptive and will help you out ime.

i've written a few of my own bits, but i've only really done improv. i've been thinking of running a few sets past my managers! i know they'd be really supportive, and i know they think i'm funny, i'm just a chicken and a perfectionist.

personality-wise, there is definitely an "oh this guy does stand-up" vibe, and i've seen many, maaaaaany funny guys (gender neutrally). i don't think i have that vibe, i'm too cute and interesting.
