I got back into DWRP after a few years of tabletop and am looking for games with a higher ratio of adventure/outside conflict to interpersonal conflict. I’m okay with smallness or slowness, I just want adventure!

I relate to a lot of this, and have some input!

It's totally normal and fine to have insecure or irrational thoughts. A classic (and helpful, imo) CBT skill is to recognize when you're having those self-deprecating thoughts and then go easier on yourself. Like if one of your rp partners expressed that they have the same sort of strong and irrational insecurities, I doubt you'd be harsh on them the same way you're harsh with yourself.

Also, the attributes of what make you a good writer 98% of the time aren't really separate from those insecurities. You're introspective and you care about making threads fun and/or interesting for your partners, right? That's a great mindset to have, clearly, and it's also going to give you some anxiety simply because of the degree that it matters. Try to embrace that if you can. Idk, the idea that our best traits also have a shadow side is comforting to me.

this is about someone who is not in rp spaces at all anymore and never became like, a well-known rper or anything. so i agree with the other anon that i think this kind of connection happens fairly often!

do you swap styles between the tags to make it seem like it's two different people or do you not bother?

i've modded before myself without help. i never once treated my players the way this mod treated their players in those caps. mod burnout is not an excuse for treating players who are bringing up fair and reasonable concerns about how an event is playing out like this.

they either need to shape up or not mod. if they were that burned out, it's on them for not doing the responsible thing and ending the game sooner before it got to this point.
