A and B are siblings, probably an older brother and his younger sister but anything works, either royals or some kind of nobility. They've always had a bit of a closer relationship than is normal and were very obviously fond of each other, to the point of being pretty much inseparable. But now something happens: war, a rebellion or some other kind of political move, which leaves them as the last survivors of their bloodline, having to fend for themselves with nothing but each other for support.

Looking to play through the process of them escaping and going into hiding together, trying to keep grief and other emotions at bay enough to figure out where they may or may not still have allies, with a whole bunch of close calls on almost getting separated or losing each other to various events. All the hardship and danger and having each other's back kind of blurs the lines of their relationship even more, which only slowly brings them even closer and deepens the codependency and fear of losing one another. Eventually, it escalates to the point where neither can hold back anymore and they begin a physical relationship out of some warped need for comfort in each other, despite any guilt or worry in the back of their minds.

I'll be upfront that I'm in it for the plot, the mess, and the nuances as much as the kink, so style-wise, the smut itself would be more interspersed and less a main focus and I'll lose interest if the characterization around everything is too barebones, make of that what you will. NOT looking for: a large age gap (I'd prefer 2-3 years at most), the siblings not being blood-related, or any kind of non-con/dub-con or one-sidedness between the two of them specifically.
