every single person on my plurk who complains about not having enough tags never tags out. they just rely on everyone coming to them and giving them what they want

I've done games and discord and plurk and it was fun for a while. Nice people, but it took up a lot of mental bandwidth. I'm a lot happier with the simplicity of knocking out tags on a PSL with occasional DMs to plan the next thing. I just want to write

I played OCs when I started dwrp very recently. Then I swapped to canon characters but I like weird characters from obscure canons so I almost never have castmates or people who are canon familiar. When I tag out and try to respond to tags within a day or two I get a lot of tags and interest because people care about my character via the cr. It takes more work and requires you to be more critical about what's not working about your own shit, but the pay off is great.

she is a thoroughbred, a breed known for nervousness
unlike humans where ulcers are caused by h. pylori or nsaids
horses can just sporadically develop ulcers because they're stressed

so guess who, within my first 2 weeks of horse ownership, trembling purse dogged her way into ulcers
this one!!!
horses are also very very very expensive. she has to have omeprazole paste, which comes out to 20$ per day, for 28 days

also because she is a thoroughbred, she has shitty little hooves. after her feet get trimmed i usually wait two days to ride her because they can be a little tender from what amounts to us trimming our fingernails

she is also very afraid of her lead rope if the barn workers tie it to the gate to save time when i go to bring her inside. but cars and snowplows are fine i guess

alas she only rump shimmying gallops when the old man looks at her and she hits the bricks

i... have no idea if this was a misfire or not, but i'm sorry this is happening to you. i don't seem to have the same problem, though. every time i come back, i generally get bites within a few days from complete strangers. tag out, show that you hit back, do writing you find interesting and fun, and people will come.

i don't know if she loves me yet BUT she trusts me which means a lot to me given how nervous she is. sometimes when she sees something scary she turns and looks at me to see how i'm reacting, and she comes up to greet me when i walk to her paddock and follows me around if i'm in her paddock.

she's definitely very responsive to voice. it calms her down a lot. when she first came she was panicking in her stall (couldn't be let out yet) so i sang her love love love and you were cool by the mountain goats because i couldn't think of any other songs that might be soothing and it did work a little bit :'^)

never have, I don’t even think those canons are popular

to be frank, generally boring writers. an expectation that my character is dtf because the top is just ~*that hot*~ without writing them with any charm or charisma is an instant inspiration killer. i'm not a visual person, a 100x100 px image of a sullen hottie isn't going to suddenly convince me the dick is bomb.

also, if we get 10 comments into the steamy bits and my character is the one initiating all the action, no matter which side i'm writing, i'm just going to have my character stand up and leave.

i’ve had tops never initiate anything, not even kisses and not even after i wrote the first one. also have always had to write my character getting into it first, being passionate, taking the lead, and generally doing everything. i’ve had tops not even touch my character once before or during even when i’ve had them ask for it and they only wrote tags that were basically *thrusts*

also have had the ic equivalent of *im okay with anything* said while they sat there doing nothing and i moved the thread along all by myself

i genuinely don't know what to say to this. i have no social circle in dwrp, i don't play popular characters and the canons i play from aren't from mcu/genshin/flavor of the week anime or la. i haven't played in a game in years, the most info anyone has about my characters is what they have in their journal.

anon, i think the most i've done that most people don't is have a thread tracker that i update with any active threads and a specialized permissions/info page where i give a list of the dynamics i like to play. it's a kinklist for people who aren't there to bone. both show people that i'm willing to engage and have types of cr that don't rely on my character being from a current popular thing.

but that's only one of my current journals. the rest are a bit more minimal. i still get bites. i'm truly sorry i can't tell you anything else.
