so this seems like something that can be accounted for by asking the player to write a brief summary of why the thread should level up the char, that seems like it wouldn't be too hard or too mod-intense, and if it turns out the player is taking the piss then it's all documented

the mods don't need to read the thread other than maybe a quick glance, they just read the summary

there are issues with this as well but overall? whenever i’ve seen someone try to do something personalized on this type of scale for a long period of time they’ve

1. quickly run out of ideas (the cookie golem thing is one idea out of their hat but try coming up with 50 small things like this per month. not every thread will be “these two baked together” either, a lot of them will just be “these two talked”)
2. weren’t able to come up with ideas for everyone so a lot of people ended up with generic stuff (generic isn’t bad btw but some will be disappointed or claim favoritism)
3. they burnt out quickly

it’s very hard to find a balance when it comes to personalized messages, items, etc. and if a prospective mod wants to try it, they can! don’t let me or anyone else deter you if you really like the idea. but please be aware it’s ambitious and that can be stressful

the best compromise i can think of is in addition to a summary, just have someone put two ideas of effects or bonuses and the mods can adapt as needed

that way the burden of creating these bonuses isn’t all on the mods. if the bonuses don’t really matter beyond something fun to post about idk if it matters that players can suggest ideas

that's still a huge amount of work when the mods have to read a summary for every character in the game.

A man stumbles upon the territory or catches the attention of a demi-human, they get friendly and they start hooking up, with the two of them getting hooked on the idea of having sex with each other that they either decide to stay together or start seeing each other.

Open to other kinks you want to add. Was thinking on the lines of yuki-onna or the snow queen, but I can go a bit more monstrous than that if you have any ideas. No live-action or iconless. PM me if you're interested.

They're filled donuts and the dough is SOOOO soft and chewy! They have four flavors at a time that rotate out (this is the last week to get the current flavors) and they only make a certain amount a day. When they're out, they're out - the place is still open but they only have coffee and whatever other snack foods are left after that. Today I had the tiramisu and strawberry cream flavors. The tiramisu did not skimp on the espresso and the strawberry cream is so strawberry. They've also got a light flaking of sugar on the outside.

unfortunately, this is something thats easy for people who only plan on playing in the game to say they want without considering how much time and energy itll cost the mods (and should we still be in the rp woes thread at this point or should this be moved elsewhere??)

i also feel like it runs into a common issue which is expecting mods to be fun dispensers or idea dispensers

i wonder if it would help matters if instead of customising shit to players and threads (far too much to lay on mods) there was a fixed table of bonuses per CR level per char.

so eg a level 2 cr gets you [power X] or [thing X] multiplied by your number of chars at level 2 or above

it would tbh and thats what i was thinking the mods would do when the idea of bonuses per level first came up, personal tailoring sounds great in theory and very fun but it really is too hard on mods

a premade list to pick from is easier, lets players pick things they might actually wanna play with rather than a novel idea for the sake of novelty, and you can also add a page to let players suggest new ideas to add to it (maybe add a credit or make the post screened then after the idea is implemented, unscreen the suggestion to credit the idea)

in small/private games, sure. but there are reasons that big games keep defaulting to the same general set of mechanics, and that's because of the amount of modwork involved.

i've got an idea for a game with what i think is an "interesting" mechanic, but due to the amount of work it would take on my end to make the mechanic happen, if i ever make the game i would be limiting it to no more than a dozen players for my own sanity.

in general i think it would help if mods could automate some of the mod processes, like with a tool that sends a comment with an automated message. i know we have ac savior for ac but i also think mods have streamlined ac submission anyway by having static ac posts. ive also seen players put together thread trackers for themselves that count the amount of comments in a thread which you could in theory use as a mod too

overall i think like... a lot of the tools that could be used to help mods havent been made because most of us are used to doing things the way we have been for the last decade, most of us are comfortable using dw and dont wanna go off dw, most of us dont know enough about programming or coding or spreadsheets to even begin to know how to make what wed need

A is a sorceress/witch/whatever, some magic lady. She has a trusty magic familiar (summoned demon, maybe?), B.

A is horny and is curious about fucking some monsters, but also doesn't want to put herself at risk. So instead she casts a spell to make her experience what B is feeling, sticks B in a room with a binding spell that she can't escape from, and summons every sort of monster under the sun to fuck her familiar's brains out, whether B likes it or no.

B eventually does come to like it quite a bit. And besides, she's a magic creature, not flesh and blood, she can take huge monster dicks, right? So A might come to regret that magical bond of sensation...
