you are irrevocably changing their established canon identity.

and oftentimes, it's an identity that deserves to just be let alone/accepted for what they are, such as cis characters who do things that are seen as gender non conforming. i've seen rpers who i'm sure are well meaning want to project trans identities onto cis characters who do things like that, and i get why, but i also feel like there's some weird gender re-un-packing involved in it, too.

THIS. so much this. we constantly talk about destroying gender roles and yet when a character does something not gender-conforming then that must mean they're trans? it pisses me off how people can't see that's offensive as hell. imagine telling a girl that they're actually a transman because they don't behave girly. god.

Thirding this. The only trans and autistic characters that anyone should be playing are either 1: canonically trans/autistic, or 2: OCs.

if you want a non-gender-conforming trans character, make an OC. then you have a trans character *and* you don't have the gross "not performing your gender role perfectly means you're not really that gender" implications.

Try not to take it too personally. Sometimes people don't mesh, and if they'd rather ghost than communicate then that's on them. It sucks, but if they're not willing to tell you what you did wrong, there's no way of knowing or fixing it. You can reflect on what you might've contributed but in the absence of any way to know, try to let it go.

this. referred to as intersex by the canon itself, and confirmed as having a penis in the book. which is also official canon. it's not some ~sexy futa~ headcanon

I think it's valid to take issue with Kaine being referred to as intersex by the canon, but this is not a widespread issue in dwrp unless you are deliberately projecting your issues onto TLH neckbeards playing magical cock lesbians
