that's actually a lot of the problem right now too. mods of games are tired of being mods of games now, but that sort of extends to mods in general. you should see the report page for wg and rpa and bakerstreet. (not that you can see rpa since it's screened, but i can only imagine) some of it is so goshdarn petty, and some of it is valid. you need either one very dedicated person that can jump on situations as they occur, (though i would think it would happen less often if it's for logged in people and not anons), or a team who are willing to share responsibilities.

i know it's not just as easy as throwing up a comm (but it used to be dear god i almost miss lj), so i think it would have to be an interest check and agreement on who would run what for any comm, unless someone felt like being ballsy enough to do it alone. at first, anyway. idk. i wish it wasn't so complicated, but considering how petty and vindictive and just flat out rude people can be, there needs to be a mod.

Oh, absolutely. Even in spaces where people have a name/account attached things can get so ugly if there's not some kind of regulation - just look at some of the twitter spats that get linked here sometimes. Fandoms can stir people up, and modding can burn you out pretty quickly - especially when you see all the horror stories before even starting.

Given how slow a fandom comm on here would be, though, I can't imagine it wouldn't be too too terrible if you had at least two people keeping an eye on things with timezone coverage and such. Almost makes me want to consider it given that this is a pretty good time to start up a Jojos one...although on the other hand it's kind of terrifying all the same rofl.

Popping back up to say I wouldn't mind helping in that kind of endeavor if need be. Since lord knows we could use one with how this fandom can get overwhelming for those not in it.

Hell, it can get overwhelming for people in it. But that's good to know! It probably won't be for a bit if I do decide to do it, since my life's kind of hectic now, but if/when I toss up the interest check I'll be sure to let you know. o7

hey, if you do it, link it here. i'd love to see something like that take off (and you could possibly ask for help with it and find a co-parent to herd your cats) and i really, really hope it would lead to more fandom stuff here. it worked on lj. there's no feasible reason it can't work here. we just need people who are willing to try.

no shade or anything if you don't (it's not on you to do anything), but if you do wind up giving it a shot, i wish you luck.

I'm absolutely going to be linking it here since if I do decide to go ahead I'll want to do an interest check to find someone a little more experienced than my none at all, haha. It won't be for a bit since my life's a little messy atm, but hopefully soon if I do wind up trying!!

I mean, worst that happens is I end up with a dead comm I have to remember to delete at some point so I'm not sitting on a good un, right? It's not too much of a gamble.
