it is and it isn't. it's a smut game in that a lot of events are geared for it and you can play it and enjoy it. but it isn't in that there's no enforced smut cr, you can exist in the game and never play smut without consequences, and there are people that are playing in it with that mentality. it's not like ariel or a game where the main goal is fucking. or like amat, with fuck or die mechanics. there's no punishment for not fucking, like a lot of smut games have. it's like an amped up eudio.

i prefer the term "erotic cuddlebox"

not all smut games have had punishment for not fucking. that's not a requirement. smut ac isn't a requirement either. we've had this argument like 500 times now. if one of the main aspects of the game is fucking, then guess what... it's a smut game. one of the main gameplay gimmicks are the moonblessings and you said yourself the events are geared for it. it's ok if you wanna ignore it. it's ok if you don't want to play it. your character will still see people around them getting in heat, it's part of the setting. because that's what the game is. people have played nothing but sol in horror games and that didn't stop them from being horror games.

i swear that every time this comes up i feel like we're back in livejournal clutching our pearls over amat. there's nothing wrong with apping to smut game, no need to hide behind "no that's totally not what it is i'm no dirty smutter!!!"

the fact that you think the argument is about pearl clutching or calling anyone who plays in it happily smutting away sluts or dirty smutters is your projection, not mine. the mods have said repeatedly it's sex-friendly. it's sex-inclusive. it's not a sex-specific game. it's not entirely focused around sex. it's a sex type game, but that also means that you can exist in it and not play smut. and that's okay. i'm all for smut games. i wish we had more. but all i'm saying is that the character that brought this discussion up isn't breaking rules by playing their character in a game when they're mentally aged up but not physically because it's one or the other and it's not really a necessary requirement because the player in question has stated numerous times they aren't playing smut with them in the game. no smut/no romantic angles, so their existence in a sex-friendly game that is open to sol plot shouldn't be a problem.

i didn't mean to imply that. i said right there that it's ok if you don't want to play it. the last part was just saying that it reminded me of what happened back in lj, not that it was the exact situation. i may've screwed wording at the end and for that i do say, my bad.

so... we agree??? now you're just being nitpicking about wording. you could say "it's smut AND x" and that i could understand, but the anon i replied to said "this isn't a smut game" and that's just a lie. selling prismatica as only SOL would be false advertising. smut is such a huge part of prismatica that not putting it anywhere in the description of the game is just wrong. half of the evens are smut geared (as you yourself agreed to). people who want to app need to know that. people may ignore them but if you don't play smut you need to apply accepting that you'll be missing half of event prompts and the entire point of moonblessings

um, no. it's not an excuse. it's an admission that no i didn't parent up. and that it doesn't matter because this petty bitching is exactly like all the other petty bitching. your whining isn't special. you're not special. it's time someone told you that. your mother lied to you.

there's only bitching about character ages because people wanked up a storm when this happened during the first tdm. same story: the player didn't intend to play smut at all with their character, but people bitched and made the mods re-clarify their stance on age limits. now we have a player who apped in with a character stuck in a 13-year-old's body but people are suddenly okay with it because the player doesn't want to smut with him at all either. what's the difference between them?

the only wank i remember was the temple player using an underage pb and since they're all about the smut, it couldn't have been about them.

it was a fate character iic. i forget the name exactly but they were on the first page of the first tdm.

hans christen anderson...who looks 7 or 8 in the fate art style so that might be why he got more "uh, uncomfortable?" comments than a teen played by a teen.

there are a few other things that i think make this different: 7 presents very differently from 13, yes, but another main thing is we've been in the game for awhile and we know now that 1. smut is non-essential to gameplay; most of the time you have to go looking or asking for it, and 2. it's extremely easy to avoid characters that make us uncomfortable

at the same time i'm willing to bet that anyone trying to app a 7 yr old now without a body age up would still get some severe side-eye

Almost every game is sex-friendly, dumbass. The term 'sex-friendly' is misleading, because there is no game out there that's sex-unfriendly. You have always had the option of having a locked log either on or off a comm where your character can get nasty, and no one is going to slap your wrists over it.

Because people have sex and have always had sex, it's a perfectly normal activity in most character's lives. Prisma is more sex-encouraged than sex-friendly.

Hostile tone of the above reply aside, they have a point on most games being accepting of smut to some degree or another. Few (if any) ban it outright these days, while most either tell you to lock it or take it to personal journals.

I think "sex game" should be used for games where smut is either the main premise or is actively encouraged by mods with prompts and plots geared towards it.

IDK, personally I'd categorize "sex-friendly" as any game allowing you to play out smut in one of the game's comms, and "not sex-friendly" as any game that makes you take that stuff off-comm to a personal journal or musebox. It's not about banning sex altogether. Am I alone in this?

whether you call it a smut game or not is irrelevant. i go there and i disagree the events/mooblessings are specifically geared for smut, but i also don't care if people want to call it a smut game because i understand that it doesn't matter what i think. so have at it.

the point is that it's dumb to police people as being ooc for playing with game mechanics. you can also use moonblessings to have fun with personality traits, whether it's for magical smut or not, and one should app in expecting that
