Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

um... excuse me? rpa is for more than just gossip. we do ads and psl hunting and questions and all sorts of things here. i've been dragged on anon comms myself, but 'removing them' isn't going to do anything. even when wg went with socks because of spamming, it didn't stop the comm. this is our version of being shitty. i'll take it over tumblr's doxxing.

rpa is fine, the mods are quick to stop ridiculous threads. agree about wg though, it's mostly trolling and it makes people anxious for some reason.

rpanons has the same kinds of threads as wg, just with less frequency and more fluff talk. it's the same people so it's the same cancer minus the above.

rpa at least allows room for the acknowledgment that positivity can exist, and there are decent discussions here, though some of the same forces that pollute wg do also slide over here and stir the pot.

i will be extremely honest that i've seen/participated in the occasional decent conversation on wg and sometimes the shitposting there is entertaining in its more benign iterations, but overall it is a drag on this hobby. the mean girls/high school gossiping, and attacking anyone just for being a bit quirky.

and not to mention, my especial pet peeve, this tendency of, "i have this wild, radical opinion of being the ONLY ONE to call bullshit on something" that leads to terrible hot takes like that huge sexuality wank thread during pride month in which a lot of lowkey and high-key bigotry was shat out, some being intra-queer wank and gatekeeping. i have more salt about that even than the rp element, even if it gets frozen, as this ultimately did.

unfortunately rpanons has largely fallen victim to fruit of the poisoned tree. sure, there may be half a dozen people here willing to have fun and funny threads about their favorite games, but there's also half a dozen people who want to shit all over that fun and drag "wg content" into the rpa community. the fact of the matter is shit gets nasty on both comms and it would be hard to separate that from the so-called good stuff. it's all or nothing, basically.

and that's why while get-rid-of-everything talk seems extreme, i see where they're coming from. we're not nice over on the rpanons side of it, just nicer.

wg makes people anxious because a lot of people have been namedropped and dragged through the mud over basically nothing. people have had had their personal, private plurks and stories leaked, especially before the mods instituted the rules against fishing.

it happened to me years ago over something incredibly minor that wasn't even wank, and i've never been able to shake that feeling. it's not nearly as bad of a community anymore (since dwrp is really kind of dying out), but it still makes my stomach clench.

shit sucks, man. idk why this particular community never learned to keep their mouth shut when they don't have anything nice to say. too many people have been wanked on for nothing.
