In a world where supernatural powers are unheard of, someone finds out she has a unique gift and thinks she's alone with it. For every hero or villain, there is someone opposite of them. In this case someone whose power lets them counter the user and they take full advantage of it, making them helpless in an area they once had full control. Some examples:

- Someone with the power to stop time uses it for good or her own personal amusement finds out one day there is someone who isn't effected. Not only that he can lock down her power preventing her from stopping time or preventing her from restarting it.

- Someone who can phase out of this world but still see and hear it runs into someone, literally, who can still see and touch her when nothing else can.

- The power to teleport meets someone who is like a magnet for that power. Every time she uses it after he notices her it delivers her closer to him. (Using it to escape a dangerous situation leads to her ending up in his house. Using it to escape him only shorts the distance to him as if taking her backwards.)

- Someone who can invade dreams for fun runs into someone who has full control over his dream-space.

- A mind reader meets a man who can project thoughts and impressions, making them feel what he wants them to feel.

- An animal empath meets a man whose emotions she can feel far too vividly, his predatory animal instincts pick up on her as she picks up on him.
