what is your favorite character design, and what is your least favorite character design?

probably in the minority on this but im very unreasonably fond of thomas edison's ridic lion head for some reason? it's just so unexpected and different from most of the designs in this game...and it weirded me out the first time I pulled him but it's grown on me ever since. that and the fact that his noble phantasm is literally blasting his enemies with the 20th century fox trumpets

also nobunaga's design is badass af to me but im still a bit of a newbie and missed her event, so I try to borrow her from friend support whenever I can and look forward to finally having one of my own when her event reruns sometimes next year

least favorite designs...off the top of my head i just can't take raikou's balloon-ass tits seriously :( plus she's got this vaguely melty look to her all around...? idk how to explain it but if the boobs weren't so bad she'd be alright. she's dead useful for grinding and her np is still rad but man...

favorites; nobunaga, sigurd, ozymandius, arthur, byrn, scathach, alter cu, caster cu, proto cu (but for some reason i've always been kinda 'meh' on vanilla cu, don't ask me why, idk), arash, king hassan, serene hassan, liz's second and third ascensions, gawain, robin, medea and medea lily, medusa, I HAVE SO MANY I'M SO SORRY

least favorites; some of the obvious ones like raiko, artemis, the birates, jack, all of the prisma illya abominations, brave liz, but i also find i'm in the minority if not being fond of dantes or cleopatra. i just don't really dig that artist's style, and never really have.

dantes and cleopatra's in-battle sprites are nice and i like them as characters but yeah there's something weird about the card art proper to me too. reminds me of dangan ronpa's style tbh?

re; amakusa and achilles, do you think they'd be better without their stupid hair, maybe? konoe is a really hit and miss character designer, but that's the thing that stands out the most to me with those particular characters.

i'm glad i'm not the only one who's not too crazy about oktia alter's design. her first ascension is cute, but her design in stages 2 + 3 both look too chaotically busy for my tastes.

among the fgo originals?

good designs: mash and most of the npcs (dr. roman, olga marie, the crypters) which have all unique looks that resemble type moon usual staple of memorable character design quality, with some exceptions among the servants like arjuna or scáthach (not the only ones, this is my example).

bad designs: 90% of the uninspired servants which look like low tier pixiv rejects. special award to that dumpster on fire that's ushiwakamaru design.

the thing that gets me that ushi's design was apparently all done with an actual top and bottoms and the decision to rip all that out was done last minute because they needed something sexy to sell the game with, because altera wasn't scoring with fans they way they hoped

like, i'm pretty sure fans would have still gone for her if she wasn't half naked

christ, ain't that true. what gets me most is i read jormungand and was a fan of keitarou takahashi as a mangaka, but that did not translate at all to either of the servants he designed. they look so weird

favorite: shakespeare, tesla, moriarty, ibaraki, oryuu and sakamoto, salieri, mozart, cleopatra, caster liz, ruler martha 1st ascension, georgios, babbage, anastasia, regular arturia, arjuna, sherlock holmes, ruler jeanne, that one dialogue sprite of lancer arturia they had in camelot that never showed up again

least favorite: jack, wu zetian, saber diarmund, caligula, gorgon, i also don't really like hyde's design for jekyll it seems a little HE HAS A DIFFERENT HAIRSTYLE NOW AND SHARK TEETH and i don't know, it doesn't gel with me

Favorites: Rama, Nobu, Artemis, Napoleon, Kiyohime (both), Ibaraki (both), Alexander, Francis, Kintoki (Both), Anne (and some of Mary's designs) Ozy, Nitocris (both), Sheba, Sanson, base Jack, King Hassan, BersCu, Penthesilea, and Summer Jalter.

Least Favorites: Altera, Raikou, Parvati, Boudica, Scheherazade, Mata Hari, Jing Ke, Nightingale, and all of Jack's Ascensions + the other disturbing loli designs.

favorite: hidari's my favorite artist in the game so all of his designs, medusa rider & lancer (in lancer's case it's more feels reason cause of how she wishes she could have stayed similar to her sisters for longer), marie, shimaudon servants have great designs too, and the servants drawn by Nakahara. Basically, my design biases are based on whose art styles I really like the most, tbh. oh, also anastasia's design is really good too.

least: bloodaxe? idk, if i have a design i don't like, then i don't really care much for the character either so i just don't think about them.
