the thing that gets me that ushi's design was apparently all done with an actual top and bottoms and the decision to rip all that out was done last minute because they needed something sexy to sell the game with, because altera wasn't scoring with fans they way they hoped

she'd still have skin showing! make her a similar level of naked to mash in her shielder outfit, people would have been fine! she didn't need to have the entire middle section of her outfit deleted!

ushi's design is just the dumbest way to get to sexy i've ever seen, it's so stupid i love her but i hate her clothes. or lack thereof.

it sucks because i like her as a character and her design would be really cool if she was just a little more reasonably covered

all they had to do was keep her otherwise the same but give her a top like her swimsuit version and maybe some shorts under the other parts of the outfit

my original point is that the average fgo original servant looks bad or uninspired, of lower quality than you find in alternate fan designs. type moon is hit and miss sometimes with art quality, but was known for memorable designs at least. i've seen ushi's original design and i'm still very unimpressed with it because she looks like your generic hentai or ecchi female samurai you can find in a thousand of games of the genre. there's nothing unique about it. which is sad when you look at the examples of the npc story characters who look good. i'll roll for ophelia, kadoc, roman or hinako, than most of the garbage they put in the gacha. because they look attractive. there are exceptions to this like da vinci, for example, who actually good look.

when your female avatar art looks better than the majority of the supposedly beautiful female servants you know you've fucked up a little.

da vinci's design is great, her being a gross pedophile is not. not sure if that was present in the jp version or if translators just went overboard, but still. ew.

You do realize the real da Vinci got busted for getting bootybanged at a young age and had young lovers himself, right?

anon, fate/ already is pretty selective about what is true or not true about the historical figures it brings in, "um, it happened in real life tho?" isn't an excuse.

they changed that too. salai has a platonic son/student relationship with da vinci who adopted him. this is addressed in da vinci's second interlude.
