real question for kin rpers

if you're interacting with an rper and their character insults the character you kin with because it is IC for their character to do so, do you take it as a personal insult and harbor real resentment toward the player for "personally insulting you"? does stuff in rp affect your real life like that?

1) my friend is perfect but also physically incapable of delivering the sheer amount of threads needed to quench my thirst, as most humans would be

2) i literally do not care who is playing the character. if it's not an interpretation i completely disagree with, i'll tag them happily without ever finding out if need be

off my chest vent: pretty bummed out that I didn't tag around on the intro log because the event was supposed to go up on the 15th so say the calendar. then the plurk announced it would be the 17th. then the discord said sometime this weekend! (20-21) but now it's pushed to the 24th? which makes me think the 26th is a more realistic expectation

if I had known on the 15th we wouldn't have an event until the last week of the month, I would have tagged around more. don't want to sound entitled, because if the mods need the extra time, totally understand! huge event! wish they would commit to a deadline instead of saying "couple more days!" over and over and over

and the only reason I'm salty is because I want to play!!!!

i fully agree. i wanted the event up because i'm excited for it, but this delay is pretty ridiculous.

is there a place where i can see all upcoming test drives? like a google docs or something?

Absolutely agreed. I hope someday they get more common.

why would you assume that an rp partner playing with other people besides you means they secretly think you suck? do you get the same way if they play with different characters or thread a different ship out with someone else?

if i thread a ship with someone, we ain't married, i can thread with other people who play the same character if i feel like it and they can thread with other people who play my character too and nobody cares

if this kind of thing bothers you then you're blurring the ic/ooc divide and need to work on your insecurity and inappropriate possessiveness

i think a game with an improvisational plot would actually be really interesting. i'd apply, anon! especially if there wasn't a neutral faction, which i always found kind of annoying in eachdraidh.

i think it'd be a fun game to join! as long as you have a few passionate players and mods, it could be extremely rewarding.

not that i know of, but there is the testdrive toplevel here which is maybe the best you'll find?

All of these are good points. I had wanted to stay away from the same person playing both versions since Eway already has that or had it last I checked. I do see where the AUs could end up being off base, and I had hoped that the AU rule of needing to still be relatable to the canon character might take care of that. I'm afraid OCs versus canon would make it worse.

The 'evil' term is difficult to explain except that the powers that be will punish them and the like if they catch them cutting out of line. When I get this second group of player characters sorted out, it'll make more sense. It's looking more like canon for both sides. Thanks for the help, anons!
