What's a game that's newbie friendly? I have a fantasy OC from a novel I'm working on that I'd like to try playing, and I've been lurking a little reading up on how RP works and is formatted on here. So I'm not totally clueless, but still haven't actually played anywhere yet. I guess I was just wondering if there's a place where any fumbles I make will go over well, if that makes sense?

planescape-style game

really rough at the moment, but a friend and i have been discussing the idea of taking the concept of the planescape setting from d&d and working it into something more dwrp friendly.

it wouldn't be a d&d-based game, to be clear. but we were thinking that it would allow for both voluntary and involuntary arrivals (some adventure to the town, some are pulled from their universes), offer an easy means for action, and allow for optional slice of life content for those who would prefer it.

we're still talking about it and the changes we'll need to make, but i'd love to hear any input anyone might have.

M/M, M/F kingdom at war trope

Posted this before, but things fizzled on the hits I got, so trying again.

Just wanting to play out a good old trope I happen to always enjoy.

Two countries have been at war for a long time, when finally one finds a way to topple the other, either on a small scale or a large scale. In both cases, I would like to play the losing side of the plot.

For small scale, two of the armies clash and one wins. The winning side's leader either decides he wants one of the soldiers for his own, or the commander of the other team. Can either bribe whoever he chooses into doing what he says by letting the rest of the army go, or just take what he wants. Naturally, dub or noncon would potentially factor in, rough sex possibly, and other kinks are debatable. M/M is preferred for this one.

Larger scale, the army that wins does so completely, and takes the castle/palace/whatever over. Like above, bribery could be done to get the prince/princess/whatever to behave, or just flat out the enemy takes what they want. M/M or M/F both fine for this.

This can be done as a sort of one shot, or if preferred, can be played out as a long term thing with maybe the characters getting together for some reason. Very open to discussing everything, though I will put in no water sports, vore or pregnancy plots. No medium preference. OCs or canon characters alright, though I will probably use an OC.

PM this account if interested, and be aware my responses are spotty due to work, though I'll backtag forever, and sometimes boomerang if on at the same time as the other player.

Dear Google,

Before you force users to change to your ugly new view and be unable to revert to the old one, make sure it actually works as well, if not better, than the old one.

I'm getting rather sick of having to refresh the whole thing to see a new message when the old view did this with just a click. I also loathe the tiny number and lack of bolding on labels with unread messages.

guys i have a question. is it considered necessary to contact a cast before apping into a game as a cast-mate? or a courtesy that, if you don't fulfill it, you're being rude? (sorry if this is dumb, i'm kind of new and i don't want to step on anyone's toes.)

it's not necessary and you wouldn't be rude if you didn't. but it's a good idea to do it to have an idea of what's going with the cast, and extra good idea if you're applying someone that may have difficult/complicated relationship with another cast member (like a bad guy or canon ship). not only for their sake but for yours as well. you never know when it turns out you are dodging a bullet.
