Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

Fast paced, tightly plotted anime. Not about teenagers is an enormous bonus.

erased, maybe? though it's kind of about kids, not teenagers.

These might not be exactly what you're looking for (it depends on just how fast paced and tightly plotted we're talking here), but here are my recs!

Death Parade: I think this one fits your criteria the best. While the show spends a good amount of time on characters that are only there for one episode, everything that happens on screen advances the narrative in some way, and it all comes together for a great emotional payoff in the end. There are some teenagers in it, but the main characters are adults. It does have some violent and disturbing imagery since it's about people who have died, though, and it deals with suicide majorly as well.

Psycho-Pass: Season 1, anyway. With the exception of one flashback episode in the middle, the show keeps a solid momentum throughout and pretty much always has something significant going on. I'm not the biggest fan of the writing but I do consider it a well-constructed story overall; it knows where it's going and doesn't flounder about. It has a full cast of adults but is also very violent and features a hearty amount of body horror.

Shinsekai Yori: This is definitely the slowest paced of the three, but it's also the one I feel has the most impressive plot. Like Death Parade, practically everything is there for a reason and contributes to the story in an important way, but the show does like to keep the audience in suspense and takes its time revealing information. It's a pretty unique anime, in terms of both story and style, and it certainly leaves an impression on just about everyone who watches it. The first arc follows the cast as young children, the second as teenagers after a timeskip, and the third as adults after another timeskip. There's subtle body horror (and horror in general) all through the show, as well as violence and some kind of graphic deaths, and it touches on suicide too.

shirobako

it's a work place dramedy but it definitely has extremely tight plotting and the characters move along their arcs at a good clip.

If you want something with more of an action/high stakes bent, Trigun, though it's from the 90s if that's an issue.

baccano!

it's done in non-chronological order, but there are many intertwining plots that are interesting to follow and try to piece together before they reveal anything. stuff definitely happens in every episode. it's mostly about young adults with some middle-aged people in there. sort of. it does involve immortal characters.
