i know you say this was your experience, and i'm not gonna say you're lying or anything, but i've played female characters in plenty of smut games and never had this issue. that's probably why i snapped at you earlier.

the most embarrassing fate fans are the self-loathing zero purists.

like the other anon said, if you're going to go on about how female characters are treated, they've got goddamn goldmines of agency and development in the vn compared to zero, where the only seem to exist as emotional pain dispensers for the male characters.

both suck and the only good parts of either are blatant shots stolen or heavily referring to/borrowing from, excuse me, "homages" to other things.

i'd argue the over-the-top sakura haters are on the same level, at least, tho

if you're willing to do physical labor, there are jobs that either require no education, or require hands-on training rather than straight classroom learning.

if you want an office job, though, no. most positions require an education, and many of them set the bar higher than the base requirements because there are so many people looking for a job right now.

I don't see any zero purists here. The points raised have been pretty balanced in pointing out the flaws in each piece of the Fate material.

I see people making suggestions to people who are new to the fandom in ways they can reasonably dip their toes in and saying "read the VN" when the OP is expressing concern about the origin content is pretty disrespectful.

Like it or not, Zero and FSN are part of the same timeline and the canon is what it is at present. People have been suggesting viewable material because it's more accessible and the easiest way to get a sense of the series' themes. The fundamental differences seem to be do you like battle themes with sunshine at the end, or fighting with darker themes. That's what causes a huge divide between Fate fans since each have different interests and the franchise does cater to both. That's just a different strokes matter.

But the OP was asking as a new fan and it's only fair to tell them what material exists and what the continuity with each is. Cool your hate boner for Zero.

i feel so sorry for managers who have to deal with this bullshit because people told their kids to harass managers until they get a job. it makes me wonder if they think somebody pursuing them like this romantically would be anything but creepy.

i actually went to a fast food interview event at taco bell where an older guy started tidying the place up post-interview but he shot himself in the foot badly. he pushed 3 chairs in without lifting them so it was like hearing nails on a chalkboard. it was the table right behind the manager too! and somebody left a few sauce packets on their table so he picked them up and threw them away, smiling the whole time in the manager's direction. the manager doing the interviews winced when he moved the chairs and after he left, she was like "wow, did that just happen?! anyway, sorry about that..."

i felt sorry for the guy because he sounded desperate af in his interview because he had kids to provide for, but the chair thing completely fucked him over. dude, the manager's interviewing somebody else and you're being loud! 3 times in a row without realizing "these chairs are loud, maybe i should lift them or stop"!

Completely right. And not even just office positions anymore. Almost any job requires is getting to the point one is necessary.

When hunting around, I once saw a job listing that required an associates/bachelors degree (forgot which one, think it was bachelors tho) for a minimum wage ice cream scooping job. I wish I could find it now because it was absolutely ridiculous.

As someone who hires others, it's a vicious circle. I've hired people with less experience only to be given employees who lied about all their skills on resumes and were a huge burden on the rest of the staff, wasted valuable training time, cost us money for all the hiring and eventual firing, etc.

It's not fair to people who can't get any experience without going to school. At all. I say this as someone who went to college out of spite because I couldn't get the job I wanted. But with schooling degrees and certificates comes a lot more trust in a complete stranger to know what they are doing as a new hire and have verifiable skills.

i play male characters now and have no problem getting cr. seeing the very wide chasm of what i could get from both genders was telling for me. i'm glad you don't have an issue. really i am. i wish more female character players could get steady and reliable and fun cr. but i totally sympathize when someone goes 'i tried the thing and it didn't work' and hearing 'try harder' or 'be happy with what you get' just hits that nerve.
