anons, what are the best and worst types of rhymes in music/poetry in your opinion?

examples of good/bad rhymes and examples of exceptions are optional.

Oh yeah, I know that. I've just been so busy lately, and I want to try to get at least half of it done before I end up having to spread out my playthrough even more because of rl.

I haven't studied poetry in English so I found that page interesting, thanks.

I like lyrics with rhymes but not in every line, and 'rich rhymes' sound too boring to me. I also like variation between long and short lines and finding the rhyming word in an unusual place (or not finding it at all).

La La Land had songs with good rhymes in my opinion.

This summer I'm thinking about trying to launch a game that's a bit different from what we have at the moment. Problem is I thought of three games I'd like to do but only have time for one. Which would you be most interested in seeing being launched?

a) Psychological horror game that relies heavily on a player creation mechanic. Each character is given a book and is encouraged to write a "story" in the book that will change the setting depending on their specification of the scenario. (All scenes will disappear within 24 hours so they can be fantastical as the player wants) Example: If character A wanted to write a story about a fire breathing dragon with character B, a dragon would appear in that log and they would have to deal with the fallout. Would have an over arching plot and a main adversary NPC pulling some strings.

b) Smut game that takes place on a bayou with a witch who is interested in watching your characters fuck form the shadows. If you fail to smut it up she turns you into a wooden puppet aka the old 'fuck or die'. She would have various magical spells/potions at her disposal to give the characters, so things could potentially get really kinky. Might be able to add some higher narrative if people want a story. Still thinking about this one.

c) Okay this one is really weird, but I will share in case someone's interest lines up with mine. Basically your character is turned into a centaur and find themselves part of a species that's been mistreated in Fanatasyland. The setting would be very Final Fantasy-esque with lots of elements inspired from the games. I was thinking political intrigue or environmental failure where characters have to save the day and overcome an oppressive regime. I was thinking about having some mod side plots/lots of fun folklore to add some flavour.

Anyway. That's what I got. If anything intrigues you let me know and absolutely feel free to add your feedback or suggestions. (I purposely left them kind of vague just to get a feel for what people would like. I will post again in this subthread with some more substantial stuff once I decide which one to go with :,) )

C. It is delightfully out of left field and I like the concept.

Personally, I like the idea of a game centered on the labyrinth rather than seguing to gods vs. people conflict. I feel like setting-based conflict (as opposed to inhabitant-based conflict) is easier to draw characters into as it's something they're forced to deal with as a fact of life rather than trying to insert them into a game-specific culture and give them motivation within it, if that makes sense.

(That and the latter is a little bit overdone.)

Ignore the anons freaking out about the literal concept of mecha, I think this would be great. You'd need to have a good think about where and how you want to limit mechanical creature creation and evolution (or how you want to tailor your setting to accommodate if you don't want to limit it too much), but I'd definitely be interested.

I love slant rhymes. I get really bored and distracted by perfect end rhymes, especially in poetry read aloud.

something i just remembered while getting dressed; i hate that i cant wear cute skirts and dresses half the time because of my cohclear implant processor getting in the way. i have an older system that is bulky/doesn't fit behind the ear.

1) do you ever use sign at all, or did you not learn since you can still hear with an implant? is learning sign something you're interested in, or do you think you'll never look into since you don't need it personally?

3) when you go to the movies, do you prefer subtitled showings or un-subbed?
