I'm a bitty Voltron newbie not part of an established group with Allura and Hunk at your disposal

It's not as bad as the news made it out to be, though admittedly being that I'm not embroiled into anything drug-related and I don't live in squatter area, the whole drug-user hunting spree doesn't affect me personally. We do have higher gas prices and dollar is at an all time high now, though. Thanks Duterte!

Just Internet tough guys. My timeline was full of people who acted as if they were honest and genuine but turns out they were the biggest shit talkers ever. Thinking about it from time to time gets me bitter but i check myself when I realize they have no job and is understandably never going to really go anywhere in life.

But man, those fleeting moments of bitterness.

1. I won't touch OCs. Most of my friends won't either. I try to avoid games that allow them. Most games don't allow fandom ones (an oc from Harry Potter for example), though.

2. It's typical, but not actively in games? People who play "several" are often flakes who don't tag people back for more than ac.

3. People have separate journals for each character here. You don't have to tell anyone it's you, especially if you're on memes and not in games.

4. Every community has toxicity. We're smaller so our wank is often more visible but comparatively less because we have less people. We typically don't tolerate bullshit, tumblrina drama, and all the bullshit graydemisexual otherkin 13 year old bullshit since we we out of it. As for thieves, we don't tolerate plagiarism but it happens. If your mean graphics a large vocal portion think icons at easy so it's fine to take what they want because they're easy!!! (same with coding) so you'll see some of that. Fan art stealing isn't tolerated because it fits some arbitrary creativity level guidelines. Some people will even justify stealing writing but most of the time it seems rarer. Must people are held accountable if shit they've done is public and being immature children shit talking people publicly will usually get you a warning or ban from a game.

5. Friendly is subjective and depends on your fandom or the games you join. It also definitely depends on the characters you play and how good you are at playing them and how well you write. You'll definitely see a different response if you're a good, IC writer that knows canon and adheres to it than if you're not and don't. People will get hype if they want a character but I think the big difference from tumblr is people aren't hype for ooc husks with character icons. It's not like twitter it tumblr RP in that people expect and want to play with a character that's reasonably IC for the most part.

How's it feel being one of the only third world countries with first world luxuries on the regular? The disparity between people in the Philippines is really interesting to me, especially because it's the only third world country I know of that has like regular internet access and luxuries that aren't just limited to the very elite.

Are hound dogs specific types or does that just mean like mutt?

Screencaps are fine, PBs are fine, art is fine (though of all three that's the one I see the least, while caps and pbs get a pretty equal share ime).

Using caps or art of somebody else's PC is iffy at best, because most people wouldn't want what's essentially their OC repurposed. Some ppl might be okay with it, but definitely ask first before using that kind of source.

As for the character select, if you're in a game mode that allows multiples of a character, they're telling you to stack up on that character.

Agreed on profile info, but totally disagree on the content! If you have good icons, you don't need to describe your OC's appearance, and nobody cares about exact height anyway. Emphasizing that info makes you sound shallow, like all you want is to self-insert and get romance with this ~very specific physical type~. The only physical description I'd put in a profile/description would be something hard to actually have in icons, like 'she has a cyborg implant above her left eye' or something like that.

What you want is for people to click on your character's journal and be able to quickly get a sense of who your OC is and what kind of world they're from, because that's what will help people figure out what kind of story their character can have with yours.

Think character types, BRIEF history, and [for me this is the big one] genre! 'Cecily is a dyemaker from a psuedomedieval version of Persia ruled by vampires. She doesn't mean to get in trouble or stick her neck out but sometimes she forgets to toe the line because all her focus is on her work.'

And maybe a paragraph or two elaborating on those things. Now people who play characters from historicalish fantasy canons know they have some common ground to work from, as do characters from vampire canons. They've also got a sense of what role she plays - not a Big Damn Hero right off the bat, but with potential to get drawn into shenanigans. That's something a villain, hero, or friend/side character/neutral rogue all have a general way to approach.

Main motivations and character conflicts are worth mentioning as well - whatever makes you interested in this person's story, share it! But keep it to three paragraphs max in the main page. You can link longer histories for people who want to learn more if you want, but the first thing that shows up should feel like a quick introduction, not homework.

Usually "alternative lifestyle" is the big keyword to look out for, a lot of these events are built around communities and trust so like there tend to be "munches" which is the term for a meal out with other kinksters where everyone can get self organised - I'm in Europe so it depends on where you are because these terms might not hold.

Make sure that you both want to do this first. There are lots of blogs out there for you to go have a look at, but personally I'd recommend sitting down and laying out what you're both comfortable with doing and forming a list of rules. Come up with a safe word. Establish a routine with regards to preparation and aftercare. I've found www.submissiveguide.com/ useful in the past.

op here, the above anon has got some of the basics down for long distance D/s relationships. Videos and pictures are often good, I've had a sub where I gave her tasks to do during the day and if she didn't complete them, she wouldn't have permission to come or she'd have to do punishments. She for example, forgot to send me a picture of her not wearing underwear under her office clothes so i made her wear nipple clamps the next day with no underwear.

da, but like... it depends on your definition of third world? Like i feel its disingenuous to use terms like third world/first world in that context because asian third world countries are better described as developing countries because for example, a fair amount of south east asia has very similar HDI numbers such as vietnam, philippines, indonesia etc. this means like there's internet, there's some infrastructure, there's business and there's some stab at public utilities but it's undermined by exploitative practises and corrupt governments. Contrast it to somewhere like papua new guinea which don't have these structures or they're poorly maintained, or only available to certain income groups.
