Greek Gods Faction-Based PVP Game

I hesitate to say "something along the lines of Eachdraidh", because I'm not trying to copycat, but it would definitely have some of the same themes: gods at war, characters picking a side (thinking Zeus vs. Hades), and then open world exploration of Ancient Greece. Getting to play in Mt. Olympus, Tartarus, etc. A fantasy game first and foremost, as I know I've been hankering for one of those, with all that great Greek mythos mixed in.

Would anyone be interested in something like this?

You've been kidnapped to an alien city run by two asshole gods who call themselves Sinne of the Dawn and Ciemra the Dark, among a bunch of other pretentious titles. The city is just The City, a tangled mess of old and new, familiar and strange, all jumbled together with neither rhyme nor reason governing its walled entrails. The City provides comfort and sweet vice, enticing delights to placate the inhabitants trapped within its walls — so long as they keep the gods appeased. Outside The City, jungle chokes out the sunlight. Ruins hide among the lush, overgrown leaves — and other things, prowling and hungry for more than just a quick meal, waiting for you to leave the safety of The City's walls. And make no mistake: you will have to venture out of the walls' shadows sooner or later. The City's twin gods demand tribute from within the ruins, and dire consequences await anyone foolish enough to ignore their commands. Complete enough of the gods' Objectives, gain status, and life in The City can be very, very good indeed. Fail, and you may just be swallowed whole. LOST RAIDERS is an 18+ panfandom CYOA jamjar with an easy monthly AC used to shape the flow of the game. Flexible events and goals allow player actions to have major effects on the setting and tone of the game and provide for a wide range of IC experiences, ranging from fluffy slice of life, to explicit and kinky sex, to the most extreme of horror. Events will always be opt-in, but the game's core is based around dark, potentially disturbing themes and a kink-positive environment. The game aims to provide a non-judgmental arena in which to facilitate and explore dark experiences for characters; as long as everyone involved is OOCly comfortable, anything can go.

Anons, give me your best stories of either bouncing back or crashing and burning after a significant person or portion of your character's CR dropped from the game. One of my character's buddies recently dropped, and while I think mine will be alright after a period of depression, it's been a while since I was long enough in a game for this to happen.

Actually this seems more like Asgard, but holy shit, anon, please.

That said, I'm interested as to what you actually want your conflict to be. The primary thrust of Greek mythology is chaos versus order, it is right there in the earliest myths, so you might want to go in at a different angle because chaos/order was Eachdriadh's primary thematic. Also, whenever I see Zeus v Hades I tend to think of Disney's Hercules, and I don't know if that is what you are looking for.

Please tell me more! This sounds like so much and I've wanted an ancient lands setting FOREVER.

The conflict would be kind of Hercules-inspired in that I was thinking Hades would attempt some kind of uprising against heaven (Cronus/Zeus), and it would be more a matter of individualism vs. the status quo rather than chaos vs. order. The game would be centered around exploring the map, probably having a pretty extensive bestiary, and getting to interact with/fight with or against a lot of figures from the myths.

It would be pretty heavy on the NPCing because of that, though, so I'd likely need some help putting it together. I'm also pretty bad at coding/graphics so I don't think I could manage it as a one man operation.

I sometimes have this "I can respond but I can't be creative" feeling, and in my case, it's usually based in feeling too divided or like the expectations on me are too heavy.

What I'd do if I were having this feeling:
- look at how much I'm doing/promising in game, and cut back on it until I feel like I can easily handle my RP commitments. this is not just "go from Too Much to Almost But Not Quite Too Much," this is "go from Too Much to Definitely Not Very Much At All." I can always ramp back up after I have my footing again.

- if I have a lot of ongoing old threads, talk to my thread partners, drop and handwave as appropriate so I know exactly where my character stands at the current moment and can build from there.

- look at how many/which characters I have active, and think about whether there are certain characters I'm not feeling or I'm having a lot of trouble with, and whether that might be dragging down my motivation and creativity with the characters I enjoy playing. rearrange my actives list as necessary.
