I read it in a positive tone. Like, it was made for this!

One of the few and first times I got high, I made the mistake of trying to RP while high, because I didn't understand yet what being high is like and that I wouldn't be able to follow a coherent train of thought or remember past tags well enough to play out a thread. I gave up pretty quickly, but the moment the high "hit" me, I was halfway through an action bracket, noticed something about my own phrasing that's a regular habit of mine, and suddenly a complete psychoanalysis of myself and why I use that phrase in that way while RPing popped into my head. That was the moment I realized the edibles had kicked in. I only vaguely remember now what the phrasing was or what my amazing psychoanalytical conclusion about it was.

I stopped experimenting with getting high partially because I like to RP in my free time and I can't fucking write while high because of thoughts like this (and the inability to remember shit. another incident involved trying to reply to a toplevel and having to scroll back up to reread it at least a dozen times because I couldn't remember what I was replying to)

I recently picked up some activity on Bakerstreet and the bizarre way the meme RPing seems to be happening is least to say baffling. Every day there's at least a couple of memes, they seem to expire really quickly. No new replies after a couple of days. Everyone posts a top level but very few tag into them. How do you even hope to attract the attention of the players outside of people who watch this comm daily when the memes move on so quickly? You'll have to be posting into everything daily or you're buried in the dust of time.

It must be a nightmare for anyone who just happens to want some RP fun randomly and comes looking for something out of the blue.

Also, it seems like a lot of bother to post a new meme, mostly from what I see, for the benefit of only a couple of threads. Because around 90% of the replies in a meme are top levels and sometimes a rare tag-in.

And before someone points it out, I do know that I need to be proactive myself to get threads and I have been. I don't really have a problem with finding stuff to RP. Even when I played in games I did the legwork of tagging into other people's posts and toplevels rather than posting my own.

All this just seems so strange to me. I'm not trying to point any fingers here, just genuinely confused as to how is this supposed to work?

Characters actually refer to each other as tsukumogami officially, but it was interesting to see the ritual! I was expecting the forge mechanic to be used so I'm really curious if that will come into play later.

it's a shitty system that's been in desperate need of an overhaul for a long time now, but dwrp is a collection of womanchildren who shit their size 9 panties at the thought of change. the only thing that's going to get meme culture around here to do anyhting differently from how it's always been done is the current system literally becoming unusable, like what happened with livejournal.

I've done psls while high and it's kind of embarrassing now to read over it and realize that I was just doing stream of consciousness nonsense. My partner never complained, she's done tags on pain meds (legit prescription, she's not a pillhead) and she was into the surreal stoner vibe our threads sometimes had.

I can write pretty decent porn while drunk/high but in-depth anything is beyond me.

of course, all will be forgiven if it's 500 non-white characters.

Sex-dynamics wise I play switches because I enjoy playing both sides (I play a lot of m/m, but I also play m/f on both sides and a little f/f too, and this applies across the board).

Personality-wise I tend to play the sexually/romantically aggressive characters. I'm drawn to characters who are sexual and characters who are easily attracted to people, or characters who harbor a one-sided attraction, in canon or in-game. I also love playing the comfort side of hurt/comfort, the partner who spoils the hell out of their lover, and the outgoing types who drag the taciturn, reserved characters out of their shells (whether for friendship or romance).

I gravitate this way just because it's what's fun for me. If I had to analyze myself about it, I'd say that charitably, IRL I also love offering people affection and making them feel happy, so I have fun doing it in RP too with CR I like. Uncharitably, I'd say I probably also enjoy the sense of power and being "special" that comes with playing, for example, one of the few characters a prickly dickhead character will smile at or open up to, or in smut, the only person who can make them lose control. I mostly don't get possessive or weird over it, but there's like 5% of me that always wants to be the one the grumpy character loves best and most.

given how shikigami can be anything, so long as the proper ritual is applied, there's nothing saying they can't be both, but the paper doll ritual is pretty clearly onmyoudo, so that explains a bit more about what the sword boys actually are.
