the book Princess Nevermore! I just remembered the skateboard jousting scene for two seconds a couple weeks ago and then got bowled over with really old emotions about how much I loved a very minor character from that novel in middle school

man i hate coming here with this, but i was hoping some kind anons might have decent advice on how to make an extra buck (and not literally just a dollar) online? i'm about 2k in medical debt (it started at about 5k but i've added to it since because i can't keep up with it) and i just don't make enough money to get rid of it so it keeps piling higher it's the main thing preventing me leaving an abusive situation, which i'm only even mentioning to illustrate why i can't just take my time and have a thin wallet in the mean time.

i haven't been able to find any extra under the table work or anything online and any kind of cost cutting i can think of i do. i've sold just about whatever i can to make money. my pool of friends is super shallow and i don't have any family i can count on for even a little boost. i'm perfectly willing to work for it but any kind of online work i find doesn't pan out and my offline work is inflexible and the job market wouldn't allow for much anyway considering my current hours and other expenses i have to pay off.

i've seen some work for editing, surveys, email marketing, etc. mentioned but i never saved the links because it was so long ago and i never seemed to find anything. if anyone has any links or tips i'd really appreciate it.

I've tried surveys myself and you can make a little bit of money, but honestly it wasn't worth the time for me. Part of it was because didn't qualify for many of them (apparently not watching a lot of movies is a problem) but also because they just don't pay much, if anything. You can get some neat free samples though.

If you have any art or fic talent you can actually do decently well with commissions, especially if you don't limit your requests. I have a friend that did fic requests and made a quick few hundred bucks.

A gofundme or the like wouldn't hurt; the least that'd happen is you get nothing.

As far as online short/temp work goes, editing is possible but it pays terribly and usually isn't worth the effort. I've heard better stories about captioning/transcription work, but don't know much about it.

It's not online, but you can also make fast cash if you happen to be a conventionally pretty woman by applying for promotional modeling events. They're usually things like standing a booth and handing out energy drink samples, and pay very well ($20 to $50 an hour) if you can score one.

Lastly, there's always selling things on etsy or ebay. It can be difficult to get exposure, but plurk works really well for that and if you're selling something instead of just begging people in the rp community tend to be really friendly and helpful imo in spreading the word or even buying. Same on the plurk thing if you're doing commission of any sort, btw.

This is probably obvious to anybody watching the show, but I'm getting real sick and tired about how this character, named and billed as part of the main cast, has literally less than one and a half minutes of spoken lines, at most two minutes onscreen, when the season is already half over.

It's all the more saddening because the portrayer for this character is on a long-running podcast and keeps doing everything within their means over there to help create buzz for this show and the group their character is part of. Stuff like "hey [show] is coming up this weekend! please do remember to watch the new episode!" and then...their character doesn't even show up for the whole episode.

By now people are already speculating that the writer(s) has some sort of hateboner for this character or just doesn't know how to write them.

In the interests of discussion, anyway, tell me about your supposedly "main" characters who got the short end of the stick like this.

A few reasons:

1. It's typically done to be able to send you more advertising. Nearly everyone hates ads.

2. It's rather creepy. Also, did you know that sometimes spouses, exes, family members, etc. can get a hold of that stuff and use it against you?

3. Do you really trust any company to keep that shit secure from people who would use it for nefarious purposes? Heck, most companies don't even bother securing it and just sell it to anyone willing to pay the right price.

4. People also aren't exactly perfect angels about what they do online.

batman vs hulk

two rounds

1. no preptime, normal batgadgets, and one anti bane one for bats. The hulk is already pissed off.

2. 20 minute prep time for bats.
