Advice? My character's SO has been on either hiatus or slowatus for the last five months due to RL circumstances. At no point during that was the character 'gone' though, just on autopilot in the game.

Which was fine, I understand rl is more important than RP. But it's becoming rather difficult to work around it at this point, and having my character notice seems...wrong. But the lack of support from the other character is definitely taking a toll on them.

I'm not sure what do at this point.

you know the character's still there even if they aren't in the limelight, right? talk to the SO's player and see about handwaving daily interactions, or since this is probably a veiled request for validation and you know what you want to do already, go ahead and dump them so he can start boffing someone else.

so, anons, what's the current consensus on verbal honorifics in rp from animanga canons? (eg, -san and so on)

is it still considered unnecessary clutter, vitally important for some characters, or somewhere in between?

specifically wondering about characters actually from japan, but i guess this counts for animanga set elsewhere too

I wouldn't consider it important for any character, but I wouldn't care about characters using it for canon or other animanga cr.

Used for every character, it just comes off obnoxious the same way using gratuitous French for your very stereotypical hon hon hon Frenchman character does.

How loyal are you guys to your character's canon love interests? My character has a love interest in canon but it's mostly a petty crush. No one plays the other character, though. That, or they app and they're so bad/inactive that I'd rather not have them.

If he builds other CR and finds someone else he likes, do you think I'll get flak if I just go for it and phase out the crush?

I tend to be very loyal to canon love interests, but that's a self selecting thing; I don't tend to play characters with casual crushes in the first place, they're either unattached or have someone they're very serious about.

And even then I kind of wish I could find someone in game my one character clicks with, because his love interest hasn't been in the game forever and it'd be interesting, as long the other player was ok with it, to play something where the characters get along really well and start backpedaling when they realize they're being more flirty than friendly with each other.

But yeah I mean I know a lot of canon pairings DO start as small crushes or never get much further, so if someone else breaks up their character's canon ship I don't really care.

If you don't want to look flaky you could try test-driving them in friends in meme threads/psls or hit up tdms first, give it a couple weeks of solid play and see if the enthusiasm sticks before you throw an app somewhere. That's what I do when I pick up a new character and want to test their staying power anyway

Hey anons posting here to get some advice.

Me and my friends are planning to go on a trip to Southeast Asia this upcoming winter. We're all friends who met in college and have somewhat spread out across the country and it will be a great event to get back together.

However we have a problem. We have one friend who is a nice girl but is a super picky eater. She only eats the few things she ate growing up as a kid like pizza and burgers and chicken and doesn't want to eat anything else. We went on a J-Term trip to Japan in college and she hated everything that was served to us on arranged dinners and wanted to go to McDonald's or KFC on free lunches. Which would be fine if she wanted to go by herself but she wanted someone to come with her and got mad when we all said we wanted to go to more local restaurants.

So basically I'm asking anon's advice as to how to deal with her since I don't have any other unbiased parties to ask. We all want to go on vacation and try local food but we're worried about her acting the same way that she did when we traveled in college. Should I say she's not invited because we're worried about her acting out like she did in Japan and it's not as easy to deal with in countries none of us are as familiar with? It was awkward and weird but at least there were teachers there to figure out what to do with her but this will be just us. But she is really a nice person otherwise so I feel kind of bad. Or should we just not tell her and deal with the fallout later? I don't know what to do. :(
