rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

A bunch of schoolchildren being killed wasn't enough, so at this point I wonder if someone shooting up an NRA meeting would be the only thing that forces change. I really wouldn't shed a tear if someone did.

Who would be dumb enough to shoot up a NRA meeting though? They are bound to all be carrying guns or have guns on the premises and the nutcases who do that shit tend to go for places where no one will be armed since weapons aren't allowed, like schools.

when is the last time someone did a mass shooting who didn't plan to immediately kill themselves afterwards? these people don't give a shit if they die in the process of this, they don't give a shit if the people around them have guns or not. They choose schools because they feel they are the places that wronged them. They choose gay nightclubs because they're homophobic and closeted. They choose whatever space is going to offer them the most victims and the most press coverage.

we have cases of terrorists/crazy people trying to shoot up heavily guarded events already. they failed in this instance, but that's because of good security, not some grandma packing a .44 in her purse.

but honestly, and this is just me, even if it were the case that everybody having guns would drastically reduce the rate of mass attacks, i'm not sure that's the kind of world i want to live in. it sounds terrifying, knowing that everybody is packing heat.

so many more accidental shootings/kids playing with parents' guns, though.

it's almost like the NRA wants to implement gun safety classes in school to avoid that

because it's not like a general standardized set of rules and regulations along with a program to teach kids to drive withing these general governences across the us in school cut down on fatal auto accidents severely.

i've said it before, i'll say it again, there is one very easy and surefire way to see sensible gun control come to this country:

start arming non-white people en masse.

then here's an unfortunately accurate reality for you;

the response to the orlando shootings, that gun control bill they had a sit-in in the house over, is based on the no-fly list. a list that is already dis-proportionally and unfairly profiling brown people. so the fact that the orlando shooter was brown definitely got people to get serious about gun control, you're right.
