Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

it's weird seeing everyone say brexit people are a bunch of old racists

i didn't know there were so many tech savvy elderly people now

Re: +1

(Anonymous) 2016-06-24 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
there are plenty of young racists, too. and a whole lot of people that voted leave to stick it to the gubmint as a protest but never thought the majority would vote for it. much egg on their faces now.

Re: +1

(Anonymous) 2016-06-24 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah but why is voting to leave the eu racist

it's weird af. it's like the people saying "if you don't watch the ghostbusters remake you hate all women"

Re: +1

(Anonymous) 2016-06-24 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
a major component of the brexit campaign was convincing voters that staying in the EU meant scary brown people are coming to take your jerbs and rape your women. this isn't rocket science.

Re: +1

(Anonymous) 2016-06-24 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
so you think all the anons who said they voted to leave believe that?

da

(Anonymous) 2016-06-24 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
if you didn't believe it, why would you have voted for it? I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here.

Re: da

(Anonymous) 2016-06-24 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
because it seems like the whole brexit thing has a lot of issues going into it, not just scary brown people

No.... no... that's pretty much it.

The numbers Brexit claimed we'd save have been debunked and they're already recanting their promise to give billions to the NHS instead of the EU. Even before they won we all knew their numbers were bullshit. They were torn a new hole over their ridiculously inflated bus number. All the economic think tanks agreed that this would harm rather than help. So that wasn't it.

Regulations on items that can and can't be traded still apply because we must still agree to the exact same regulated guidelines to access the free market. That also covers part of the anti-migrant argument. Basically in all EU dealings we will still need to abide by the rules of the EU, including trade and commerce, which is mostly the only thing they regulated anyway. They weren't controlling our laws beyond the limitations of things like their bill of human rights which isn't exactly the pinnacle of bureaucracy. So it isn't that.

Did you have anything else in mind?

actually, yes

did everyone who vote leave know that brexit was bullshitting about the money?

because it was spearheaded by a fascist party within the british government (ukip) and one of their primary platforms was anti-immigration with rhetoric focused almost entirely on brown people.

actually find out what's going on before you speak.

"it's not my job to educate you"

Re: +1

(Anonymous) 2016-06-24 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
how is that remotely related to anything

yes you should educate yourself on important issues before you ask stupid questions, this is internet 101 shit.

Re: +1

(Anonymous) 2016-06-24 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"actually find out what's going on before you speak" is the same thing as "it's not my job to educate you" anon

you have an opinion on this, i wanted to hear the reason for your opinion

if you're capable of reading random posts by anons you're capable of googling for and reading news articles. like this has been massively covered in the media before the lead up to the vote.

it's not inherently racist, but the vast majority of voters who voted that way did it for racist reasons

i've seen this a lot in discussions from pro-brexit people.

"why do they keep calling me racist! i just don't want terrorists in my country! these other people just call me racist because they're terrorist sympathizers!"

yeah. ok. not racist at all.

I never said grandma was racist, I said she was stupid.
