Is it just me or is it obvious this is trolling with a fake spoiler? Yes, it turned out to be true, but what better way to bait people than a vague and sappy post about a "she" dying?

no. someone bingewatched and commented on something that happened near the end of the season. and this is the barest surface scratching of what's happening on tumblr. if they were going to go fake, they should have gone with 'she died and i'm so glad. yeah. fuck her. about time.' then people might have thought it was piper. people literally binged it as it came out. it wouldn't surprise me that someone watched it all and commented as it happened.

I'd agree it wasn't a fake troll that turned out right, but I also don't think it's a big deal. yes, "she" died, but it's a show about a women's prison, women make up the majority of the cast. what we get from that comment: someone's going to die. Hell, a lot of shows would use that sort of line as a teaser in advertisement of new episodes. Someone's going to die! Better tune in to find out who. Season cliffhangers aside maybe a hit on Alex will succeed (seriously, with the threat of a criminal boss outside jail wanting her dead the show has set itself up with a plot thread that can never realistically be resolved by the characters, because it's literally a matter of public record that she's still housed at that prison https://www.justice.gov/actioncenter/locate-prison-inmate-or-sex-offender )

nothing indicated who/when/where/why. it's not like someone pulled a "Snape kills Dumbledore!"

it's still incredibly classless to drop a spoiler at all barely half a day after an entire season drops and it's in the second to last episode. they could have had a little tact. waited a day or so. it was a whole season, not a singular episode.

I just experienced a moment identifying with the people who complain that younger generations are taking trigger warnings too far, and I feel dirty for it

it's not trigger warnings. it's spoiler warnings. it's just being a decent person and realizing that not everyone can sit and binge watch an entire season in 13 hours and be able to talk about it before an entire day's gone. if they'd even waited a few days, no one would have said much about it, but it was barely half a day since it dropped. it's just tasteless and rude. has dick all to do with trigger warnings.
