rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

but isn't that speculation just as much as the "we're actually trying to preserve our species because we're fighting a battle we don't think can be won back home" is?

i understand people people being wary but so many are already jumping the gun with shit like "well MY ryder sides with the aliens!" (so you're gonna pull an avatar, totally being subversive there) and saying it's going to be an imperialism simulator like DAI was (which couldn't be further from the truth) without just waiting for information. and in typical bioware fandom fashion they're going to cling to these notions and scream racism when the game comes out because as much as they whine that bioware can't handle grey situations well, neither can most of this shitty fandom.

sorry anon this wasn't really aimed at you, i'm just not looking forward to the fandom doing what it always does when a new bioware game comes out.

It's not as speculative, since it's taken from the marketing survey blurb: "players will lead the fight for a new home in hostile territory - where WE are the aliens - opposed by a deadly indigenous race bent on stopping us." It's a worry born from the knowledge of how tone-deaf AAA marine shooting games tend to be in general towards these kinds of issues.

I'm happy to wait for more information and it would be fantastic if my worries were disproven. But if the question is, "what do you feel about Andromeda right now, based on the current information?", well those doubts are there.
