rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

I love stalking OCs and OC-canon CR, but I wish DWRP had more OCs from worlds other than our world with a twist setup. Those can be great don't get me wrong, I'm just looking for something to add to the menu. Can anons point me at some of their favourite OCs from a greater variety of genres? Hard SF or space opera? Political fantasy? Historical? I'm interested in everything!

circumitus is one of the protagonists from a future post-apoc dystopia where rampant gene-splice robots and malignant AI's tear at the delicate fabric of the burgeoning remains of the US. Everyone's Fucked Up, Nobody Gets to be Happy: the Story. They player has a book self-published on amazon, though I'm having a brain-fart about the name. I know other anons who go here who'd know what I'm talking about.

tongueamok is a snarky and cowardly cleric from an originally D&D sort of setting; the combination of his strong and unusual personality in DWRP and the player's sweet nature makes him an interesting one to follow in Hadriel. I like how they weave his cursed nature into his every-day life and tend to reveal dribs and drabs of info over time. It's a good mix of story-telling in DWRP nugget form.

heavyhitter is from a far-flung sci-fi mob boss setting that I think will eventually get its own comic? The player's a fantastic artist so the account is worth an ogle. I'm not as familiar with the low-down on Ramir because I haven't had a chance to form a tight-knit CR of any kind between her and any of my characters, but if you follow Zee's plurk you're inevitably going to get world info-dumps. She's got a large enough following that you can read up on cool updates without having to pester them much.

sereneflame has been kitting out their high fantasy setting (well, post-high fantasy?? It's a post-magic-users-ruling-the-land) character for the last few months and I've been lucky enough to follow them through that process. They've got some unique ideas about magic, non-humans, and the tenuous state that the world is in when humanity relies on old and worn-out paradigms. Their player is brand new to OC playing but I think that they have used their ages of canon RP to bring a sense of strong voice and DWRP-pertinent details to their character. I can't say no to lady knights, so there's that.

I know of a few others, but they're mostly from earth-with-a-twist or their journals aren't finished yet. I've also got a few as well, but their journals are in a perpetual ugly state that I wouldn't want to showcase!

Hope those help, anon! I know DWRP isn't really the strongest platform for OC RP (and yeah, there's tonnes of other places to get it on IJ, forums, etc) but it is probably one of the few places that OC's can be from different worlds and be brought into settings like jamjars and panfandom new settings without having to be AU'd in. You get a very different perspective than if you were to AU or build a character specific to the setting of the game at hand.
