does she still play?? i've seen other REs mulling around but i hope the entire fandom didn't quit because of one person, what did she even do

infamous republican whose meltdown in 2012 over obama's reelection sparked the AMERICA IS DEEEEAD meme, they had another meltdown last year when the supreme court legalized gay marriage and that one pretty much torpedoed any chance they had of rping in this hobby again

they haven't touched their plurk since january so they're either gone or they adopted a new alias

they played wesker, which i guess is kind of ironic considering their world views. i can't remember either account but i know she was itsgametime/timetogame (igticons or something?) on lj and i believe she was in that terrible exitvoid cast.

glad she's gone but she didn't scare anyone away. a lot of people keep to themselves and some are in it only for m/m (there's this one really bad chris that seems to stick to sex games so they don't get called out on how ooc they are for example) or only want to play with their friends. i know there have been a few really nasty ooc weskers other than phase that shared the same kind of world views, too. a lot don't seem open to cross canon shenanigans even when they're in games and i think it's a reputation gained over time for the series. i know some people who play from it and they're good people but i can't speak for anyone who crawls out of the wood work.

if phase is still around she probably has new accounts and a handle but you should be fine, anon.

i'll be honest. i play from resident evil on and off still, but i'll only rp with my friends. that might make me part of the problem but man does it seem to have a weirdly negative "fandom" over here on dwrp. kind of sad, since it's such a fun, ridiculous series and i'd love for it to be more active.

to this. and it's not just phase, either. jess the cockhop queen has a MAJOR grudge against some re player and as recent as late last year was seizing every opportunity he could to attack random RE players on the infinitesimal chance they were maybe her grudgewank victim. there are a few other lower-key wankers who have played re characters (that sherry comes to mind) and in general the fandom just has a really horrible reputation, which is sad because as you said, it's fun and harmless basically. mgs suffers the same problem

i wonder if that's what happened to me. i had a spot of wank crop up out of nowhere over some of the most trivial bullshit last time i rped from re. it was over as quick as it started and it's not like it hurt me, but it was confusing because like i said, it was literally out of nowhere and over nothing

as someone who gave the deets about whoever that person is (jess or whoever, i only know their account) from time to time they were literally stalking players and though she'd argue otherwise it pretty much came down to wanting to ship and not getting it how she wanted when she wanted it and she seemed to think every male re player was the same one. i can't say if she's done it to the female players since i don't know based on myself or my friends' experiences.

a lot of my friends don't even tag on memes. i think part of it may also be that there's a lot of untranslated supplemental material and for some reason a lot of people either pick up the weirdest side characters we'll never see again and make them op or whatever? honestly, everyone i've talked to on dw is typically more a casual fan than someone who would consider themselves in the fandom, but even the assholes we have here beat capcom's official forums and tumblr. i've seen some crazy stuff on tumblr.

the series isn't for everyone when it comes to rp so even if it's popular or people like it, you don't really see a ton of people rping from it. even as goofy as it is, it's still pretty serious and the nature of the games themselves don't lend for characters that fit in with most of the games we have. most of the characters have hit 40 or are close to it and there's only so much big brothering a player can do before it gets dull.

i should also clarify i don't mean casual in that eye-rolling way so much as people who like the series and enjoy it, but it's not something they're super into or hype for or feel a connection to any characters enough to rp them.

a long time ago when i played a re character, jess pm'ed me asking if i was the one who was wanking on her at wg. i had no idea who she was.

i don't play in the fandom anymore because of the reputation and because it seemed to consist of players who knew each other ooc sticking with each other while avoiding everyone else. i ended up cross-canoning the majority of the time that i played the character.

she did the same to me, but it was more an accusation and telling me to talk to her before i post anonymous about her. i think she'd tagged me once months before on a meme and i never tagged her back since i saw her around and didn't think i'd enjoy tagging her at all. i think she thinks the entire fandom is a scattered few? everyone with an underscore is the same person and everyone with a one word name is the same person or something like that.

sorry you had to deal with her. i ended up dropping the character for a bit since i saw some wank pop up and i'd literally only done 20 comments with the account over a year.

is this the same person who had that open letter on her journal to dw and maybe denise about how problematic thread droppers were and couldn't understand that she wasn't entitled to everyone tagging her back? i think it was her and she lost it because people were talking about how it is their choice if they get back to her or whatever and she went on and on about how she pms people and they'll say they'll get to it when they have time or something but she sees them?

i can't remember all the details, but it was on a female account and i want to say it was igothim. some people commented and critted her on it and she showed up on an anon comm telling people that if they should just tag back it didn't matter if they didn't want to. she couldn't seem to grasp that she wasn't owed a tag and kept talking about how it wasn't a big deal, why couldn't they just do it, and didn't seem to get why someone had the right to do it like a starter entitles her to a reply until it gets to a place she considers a conclusion. if you tell her you don't want to play with her she'd flip out and drag you on anon comms.

i know she (the igothim account at least) did it to at least one piers, a leon, a chris, and two different wesker players. i don't know a lot about the movie side of fandom but i know one of the ones she was confusing for a different player had a movie account so it's a safe bet she probably bothered them too.

iirc she scared away two different rpers she mistook for being the same player, copy pasted pretty deetless pms on wg (the two players were just being nice and obliging, but obviously tagging jess wasn't their top priority), then one of the two rpers finally stepped up to call her out for harassment. from what i remember they were extremely sick and were stalked by jess for a year before having their things plagiarized(?). crazy shit in this fandom, man. but worth it to watch from afar when it does creep up.

Did Jess play anyone from RE at any point that we are aware of? Because this behavior is very similar to the buttfuck crazy Rain player that attached herself to my underside several years ago that I had to aggressively remove via surgery but she still grows back sometimes but changes her name so often I can't always keep track of her.

i'm not actually sure? from what i remember their more notorious journals were beautifulsavages/igothim where the second account seemed to latch onto any and all re men (specifically a movie wesker and a game chris whose account is pretty much gone but played by two diff people) and she baleeted her musebox which was some terrible dante's inferno quote. as for other handles i recall seeing anons call jess by different names so maybe.

every single time i see igothim i try to read it as one word and not as "i got him"
