Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

Gauging Interest on a Meme Idea

(Anonymous) 2016-06-15 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I was thinking of doing a Capitol Hill AU meme, taking inspiration from canons like House of Cards, Scandal, Political Animals, BrainDead, etc.

It'd be focused primarily on the structure of American politics, but if anons from other countries have unique aspects of their political structures that they think could make it more interesting, I'd be all ears.

I'm basically trying to find out what its flop potential might be, if it seems too niche, or if it'd explode into 50 shades of wank (considering our current climate, I am worried this might strike too many nerves to be balanced against pretend fun time). It could be something that's better suited to a PSL/musebox, so I figured I'd ask for opinions before putting in effort for a meme.

As it stands right now, I'm thinking for possible roles: Senators/Representatives, Cabinet Members, Lobbyists, Judges, Reporters, (Vice-)Presidents, and Aides.

I can't tell if this is a serious question or a joke parodying interest checks in general.

No. Bad idea. Bad idea for multiple reasons. Do not pass GO, do not collect two hundred dollars, do not do this.

there was a politics satire rp called "good to be in dc" internet centuries ago

(internet centuries = last decade)

but even though everything seemed pretty shitty then in the middle of the bush years, it all seems a lot funnier in hindsight than things are now
