Rundown:

rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

i think that with this kind of thing, you're going to get a second eudio where everyone ignores the monsters. you need to ease up on some part of this or the darker characters and players who might be interested in the monsters otherwise are going to stay away.

The monsters will be a little hard to ignore. Even though SOL will rein supreme, there will be periodic attacks that are disruptive the city. And lots of people like memory-share events, or events that have some psychologically bendy things, without necessarily wanting those things to be dub/noncon or forced aphro.

Like I said in another comment, I also have personal reasons for not wanting to have to deal with it in the same space. I really shouldn't have to spell out any personal traumas out to get people to accept it's just not happening. A few people have pushed now, and at this point, it's starting to nudge into kink-pushing and people actively not respecting boundaries, and that's a very bad thing to accept as okay from the point of game creation onward. So my ears are open on other aspects of the game, but this is a final dubcon/noncon no. Any other comments that are just to the effect of arguing for it are going to be ignored.

i made the above comment without reading the rest of the thread first, so i'm not trying to push it (i don't like it either). that said, don't underestimate the ability of players to ignore your plot if they don't feel like playing with it. stuff that gives players a chance for their characters to shine and go "oh woe is me", like memory share, will get a lot of interest, but stuff where they have to put in effort and work together, like a monster attack, can get ignored.

basically, keep in mind that you can write as much about the monster plot and the disruption of the city as you want, but if a playerbase isn't into it and decides to keep shitposting or not post at all until it's over, it's not going to matter.

when you have people joining horror games and crying over all the horror... you have to understand that people are just dumb and if you give them a place to just play out their psl in a game setting, that's what they're going to do. 'oh, we're going to handwave blah blah, this happened, whatever, now let's get back to making cupcakes'.
