rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Thoughts on the new mods?

I personally think A+. some of the mods have prior mod experience and some have just been in the game forever so that's a good balance right there. plus, at least the mods I've interacted with oocly have all been lovely people so that's a plus. :)

What's the Dragon Age cast here like?

with the caveat that I haven't played the games, the Hawke & the Iron Bull are WONDERFUL. both are a joy to plot with, a joy to talk with oocly, and are always up for silly shenanigans. our Lavellan's newer than the two of them so I haven't threaded with them yet, but I've got the player on plurk and they seem like a total sweetheart as well.

We need more Overwatch people here. The setting is perfect for them.

How many Overwatch people are appable in the first place? the mods are pretty good about not letting in characters with barely any canon and I'm under the impression that a lot of Overwatch people barely have any canon.

If Mercy was accepted, I'd think everyone who has either had a comic or a short is probably appable.

I'm happy that someone's trying to start up a game chat, but I wish they went with Discord instead of Slack seeing as Discord is taking off so much and it just seems like a better interface.

I know players who were already using Slack started the Slack chat so I don't blame them, but I hope we either move to Discord or have a Discord chat alongside it if it takes off.

I honestly wish that if we had a game chat platform, it'd be on NEITHER of those. One of the good things about AIM chats back in the day was that if you knew the chat name, anybody can join. I'm not 100% sold on these 'the chatrooms are invite only' sort of platforms.

course, I doubt the Slack chat'll stick around longer than a week or two (aside from the Vorkosignan cluster who iirc has been using it for a while) so we might just both be complaining for the sake of complaining.

slack isn't invite only? anyone with a paid account can sign up to the dwrp server with the username @ dreamwidth dot org emails every paid account gets. then once you're there, channels are public and browsable. if you don't have a paid account there is a generic email set up (dwrpslack at gmail maybe?) and the owner of that invites anyone who emails it, zero exclusions, regardless of if they know them.

people can and do create private group channels to chat but as far as I'm aware all the major game channels including maskormenace are totally open and nobody needs an invite, you can just browse them along with the specific canon channels and join whichever your heart pleases.

personally, i really doubt anyone outside the dendarii clique is going to find much place there to begin with
