rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

RE: b), there's usually at least one anon who cries about how Miles isn't a character and only exists because Muh Pandering, idk if they're the same anon as this one here but I wouldn't be surprised. Usually they cry about janethor and kamala, too.

Basically, any superhero that isn't white or dares to be a current female holder of a legacy title that was previously male can't be anything but the result of those darn pesky sjws who ruin everything.

I'd love to know how you plan on having the two factions interact eventually, having them more or less cut off from one another.

You could use NPC clashes as methods for characters to defect from one side to the other (aka 'Jones signed up for a battle that happened in the background and pretended to be a soldier from the other side once his side was nearly wiped out'.)

I don't know if having actual in game clashes would be wise, unless all parties participating are well aware of the consequences of being taken prisoner and brought back though, you know?

There will be plenty of battle skirmishes, raids, rescue attempts, etc. for opposing factions to meet and interact. They might also stumble upon each other while roaming around the countryside. Only the comm channel will be kept separate, the logs community will be shared by both.

But yes, there has to be OOC permission for battle consequences, no one will have to play out something they don't want. (Working on the FAQ right now.)

I might put up a sort of 'neutral ground' between the two factions, so either side can have CR without having to fight each other immediately.

i don't think she came up much after that- she got banned from mask or menace and ryslig and seemed to realize she'd no longer be welcome and deleted all her accounts, including her plurk. iirc she hasn't been seen in dwrp since.

Some jerk anon from earlier got me hooked on I Roved Out and the artist's other comics. Now all I want is to know that some other human in existence enjoys the camp of Lovesyck enough to pick up a character from it.

The sort of h/c antagonism with Bolivia and Carver going on earlier in the comic piqued me. On the other hand they're all interesting enough that I could play just about anyone from the series and be happy.

If you're in gmail, sort your inbox into filters by character and filters by game. This way you have options to switch it up if you need to get more motivated. Have a voice for a certain character? Tackle their folder and go oldest to newest, or one-old-one-new.

Happy to switch between characters but really interested in a game event? Use that folder to tackle threads either oldest-to-newest or based on your discretion.

Probably best not to leave the oldest tags for too long. If you're feeling burned out, consider how you could wrap an older thread up quickly so that your RP partner doesn't feel flaked on. Communicate, double-check if they have anything else they'd like from the thread if necessary. Be polite and consider taking on less threads per character at a time, using down-time between tags if you get them to canon review or add content to your character's journal.

Also consider having a notepad or journal entry where you jot down ideas you have for your CR with other characters or things you'd like to see your char do. Plurk is so ephemeral, that shit gets lost and then you look like a flake for not following up on whatever cool plot idea you were chatting about. If you're feeling tapped, go to that list and hit up the player for the idea that interests you most, then put it in motion. Easier to feel engaged in a game when you've got these planned things than when you're coasting on greetings and wandering conversations, you know?

The fandom would be exactly the same as it is today except that instead of collecting cards and figurines they would also be pumping up the jam writing intense battles about chunky fusion-robots against massive space-monsters. They'd get snubbed by the Pacific Rim and possibly Transformers fans (former too sleek and fancy; drifting is for true robot fighters you plebs, latter would snub for the fact that the robots weren't sentient but piloted by humans, ugh) but form a weird alliance with the Steven Universe fans, who would accept their Billy as the true precious cinnamon bun he was always meant to be.

What are some useful tips on how you started a game, and how to keep it afloat? Interactions with players? Interactions with co-mods? Plots? Admin-work?

So, from what I can find so far, it is another Zamii situation where help came before the person actually died, and now they're back on Tumblr. I don't know the details, but whatever they are, I do think the fact that members of a fandom going "DING, DONG, THE WITCH IS DEAD!" after getting a suicide note from someone they bullied still bothers me more than the fact that I can't find footage of the guy looping a belt around his neck and kicking a stool out from under him. Who knows? Maybe he was just wondering how people would react, but if he was, well, he probably found what he saw interesting.

Considering Fight Club 2 (comic) was released a couple of months ago, it might still end up being a fad canon.
