This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

* shares at least one or two (preferably more) interests with me. preferably regarding characters that we play.
* is willing to play dumb ships with me, doesn't have to play the other half of my otp but that's a bonus.
* is willing to tag at least once a week, preferably daily.
* is ic "enough," it's okay if they're just average, as long as their character is recognizable.
* open to aus, no matter how dumb (you have to at least joke around with me if i suggest something silly like an extreme cheapskates au, we don't have to actually play it out.)
* that being said, has to have a dumb sense of humor like mine or is willing to tolerate my humor.
* has some ideas of their own and doesn't expect me to think of everything.
* can have health/mental problems, as long as they don't make it my business when i don't wanna talk about it.
* is mature
* doesn't necessarily have to be my new bestie, as long as we're on good terms and willing to chat every once in a while about things that aren't rp-related.
* optional, but if we could talk new anime or shows, that would be fun.
* is not a neckbeard. i say this as a male roleplayer. don't wanna associate with their ilk.

No, there isn't.

If you post it, they'll be uploaded to manga websites when someone finds them. It's super easy to rip images from pdfs. Hell, it's easy to take kindle store manga/comics/books and rip all the pages in 2 minutes or less. It doesn't matter if most people are too lazy/don't know how. All it takes is one person.

And obviously watermarks aren't going to stop people. They want to know what's going on with the story; they don't care who did it except to know where to go for more. Personally, unless the person made the characters/series themselves, ie it isn't a doujin of an existing canon, then I don't think they should be using watermarks. Watermarks imply you made it. Scanning, typesetting, translating etc... Yeah, you did the work but it's not "yours." No, not even the translation is yours because even if you did it yourself, you don't own the rights to the original text.

So yeah, if you don't want it spreading everywhere, don't post it publicly. And even then, don't post it anywhere if you want to be sure it won't be reposted elsewhere, but then why bother working on it, right?

tl;dr Your friend is doing something illegal, and your friend's group has no right to complain how their illegal scans are used. Similarly, doujin authors/artists don't have a right to complain if their work is based on someone else's existing work they don't have the rights to.
