idk, i wouldn't necessarily have assumed it would encourage others to follow because i don't think most of the characters we have in the game at the moment are the type to just up and kill other people. pride and kylo both got punished for what they did, too, so i would think if anything that would make other characters even less likely to want to try something similar.

Economists expected better results for remain before now. We expected that even for a brexit win they would only gain steam towards the end and the majority of the polling would favour remain. As it stands, remain hasn't controlled a lead for more than an hour, so I think it will take a miracle to unfuck us now. Even if the margin stays narrow, leave is looking like the sure thing.

(On a personal note I picked an awful time to travel to visit someone. I already had very little money and now the little money I have is going to be worth fucking nothing.)

Why do people always assume that the positions people are applying to are high level positions when even entry level work is subject to this problem?

Oh yeah that sucks. I have a friend who's a chem doctoral student and she's mentioned there are serious problems with getting a job.

I hope you find a job in your field/somewhere else interesting that you can apply your degree toward soon though. :(

I never thought I'd say this about something political but my heart is breaking over this.

The worst part of being unemployed with a grad degree in STEM is a lot of services that are supposed to help with job hunting just look at your resume and go "Wow, you have really impressive qualifications" and can't actually help because they know how to help people land admin assistant jobs and didn't even realize people could end up unemployed with those qualifications.

Yeah, my last job I hated for much more of the time than I liked it. I stayed because I wasn't going to find anything paying more than I was being paid in my area and wasn't actually worse. I only ended up leaving because they cut my pay and the job went to being absolute shit and caused severe depression. In my eyes if a job starts giving you suicidal thoughts, it's time to leave whether something is lined up or not.
