i agree with you but the issue is more that they sprung it on their players out of nowhere (and not for the first time) and only AFTER they put so much attention on a murder plot. they made it seem like it was totally fine and then suddenly we get this slap on the wrist.

i'll believe what they said in response to dal that they had the plot going before it became a problem but how stupid do you have to be to not realize putting a murder plot on the center stage wouldn't encourage others to follow?

I personally have a list of credits for every piece of fanart I use for icons in case someone asks about them, but I don't post them on the actual icon page just because I don't think anyone actually bothers looking there. but given this thread, who knows.

But someone who doesn't have the connections could also turn out to get on FINE and do a fantastic job. Even better than the one you already know, but if you're not even bothering with other candidates you'll never know.

also not cool: child characters basically being tiny adults, and having a supposed-to-be-normal kid reading like an unholy combination of Wesley Crusher and Stewie from Family Guy.

really depends on what field you're trying to break in to, and what level you're aiming for. most everyone starts out as unconnected, you just have to find the right way to get your foot in, to make your connection. i don't disagree that the system is pretty fucked up though and it'll probably take a lot of rejection before you make it in. it sucks, but you can't give up if it's something you really want.

(yeah i know, easier said than done, but if you give up it'll never happen, right?)

Pretty sure everyone agrees on the fact that fanart users who refuse to credit are jerks. And nobody can tell if you're refusing to credit or just not putting it up "because you don't think anyone checks". They do. I do. Put the credit where it belongs.

So I uh....made a overwatch community for dress up/roleplay? In terms of testing the waters if anyone would want a game/roleplay for it in the future. Would anyone be interested?

i figured out the solution to the icon-saving problem. go to your about:config page and look for network.http.accept.default;.

delete the text, restart. icons save again.

Shout out to employers wanting an associate's degree in [insert major here] for a minimum wage job.

Shout out to the unemployed/underemployed because they're considered overqualified.

The job market is shit where I live and it's shittier if you don't have the education necessary, and no matter how many times I've been told to do so by friends and family alike, I'm not going to risk lying about my skills knowing if caught will get me fired.

I keep thinking that it's maybe just a wording issue, too, and that the mods don't really mean it "like that", but at the same time, when people have raised concerns about the implications and pretty much asked upfront if they do in fact mean it like that, we're basically getting a Yes from the mods over and over. In the name of "being firm", of course.

I have a friend who has a really enviable job in computer tech; it's basically the data entry job every nerd wants. Makes lots of money. Lied on her resume about her qualifications. Hasn't gotten questioned or fired yet.

It actually makes me angry. I can't bring myself to lie either. I feel like I'd be too anxious about being discovered to ever feel comfortable at work. Yet so many people do it and get away with it.
