Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

There's a certain type of asexual that's stupid as fuck. See: tumblr.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-06 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
As a gay: not like there's asexual spaces, and what ones there are get overrun with gays saying they don't need spaces at all, silly hets.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-07 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
as it should be, tbh

(Anonymous) 2016-05-07 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
No it shouldn't, so get the fuck out of my LGBT because you're the same people who make arguments that the icky bi people don't belong.

Like literally, the arguments against asexuals are the same exact arguments that people try to use to keep bis out.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-08 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
straight asexuals don't belong, tho

sa

(Anonymous) 2016-05-08 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
and i'm saying this as a straight asexual btw

im not queer in any way shape or form

(Anonymous) 2016-05-08 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
IDK why you'd say that. That's like saying, "If you're bi and currently with someone of the opposite sex, you don't belong because Straight Passing."

no one has ever explained this to me

(Anonymous) 2016-05-07 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
they like to pretend they have it just as bad as the icky gays.

just like bisexuals like to pretend they are invisible.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-07 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
bisexuals aren't invisible. they get shit from both sides. not sure what world you live in.

do you think gay spaces are nothing but talking about gay sex

(Anonymous) 2016-05-08 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
of course not but there's more to being gay than just sex

is there more to being asexual than just not being interested in sex? genuine question, is there?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-08 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
the more to being gay there is is due to a century of developing culture since gay became an identity. ace has been an identity for MAYBE twenty years. if there's no more to being asexual (i'm not ace, i don't know if there is or not), it's because the identity (if not the trait) is still brand new.

When gay spaces are just about how gay we are and how much gay sex we want, then you'll have a point

Otherwise, yeah, no, I'm all for my asexual friends having spaces where they can reassure each other without anyone butting in that they aren't fucking broken for not feeling sexual attraction

(Anonymous) 2016-05-07 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)

+a fucking million

(Anonymous) 2016-05-06 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly, other asexuals make me so fucking angry.

It's downright reductive - homophobes already believe LGBT people are all about sex and hedonism and what the fuckever else, so when straight asexuals and the BDSM community come in all WE'RE QUEER TOO, that's basically saying queerness to them is about how much and what kind of sex you're having. Thanks for trying to put things back a decade or three, guys.

I still seethe with butthurt about that goddamn comic that tries to play like being beaten or harassed for being a woman who doesn't want sex or being in a homosexual relationship is asexual discrimination.

Also, as a bi asexual, my grandma asking me every six months if I'm "courting" yet is not oppression.

Re: +a fucking million

(Anonymous) 2016-05-07 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
"courting" is kind of cute

Re: +a fucking million

(Anonymous) 2016-05-07 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
bi asexual?

da

(Anonymous) 2016-05-08 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
asexuals can still be interested in relationships that don't involve sex/sexual attraction.

the bi in this case is biromantic. so they would date a man or a woman, but wouldn't want to have sex with either.

Re: da

(Anonymous) 2016-05-09 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
the split attraction model is stupid fucking homophobic bullshit

i've had it with lgb ppl adding 'ace' to their identity like anyone fucking needs to do that. you're the ones reducing orientation to sex.

just say bi.

I like looking at and would date both sexes, I'm not interested in sex.

Being asexual has precisely zero effect on any part of my life because guess what, no one cares how much tail I'm getting. But being bi and asexual is probably why other asexuals are such a fucking embarrassment to me, so in this one single situation, it seemed relevant.
